German Roaches Present
We found "Mad Beach Bungalow 2" on the Bring Fido website and booked it in May. Despite having other options, we chose this charming, small place near the beach to celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday. Due to travel delays, we arrived on June 17, 2024, only to find the unit in dire need of cleaning. The issues included both AC units needing new filters and being excessively dirty, a used Swiffer pad left on the sweeper, ceiling fans caked with dirt, and a washing machine harboring significant mold buildup. After quickly tidying up, we headed out for activities, returning in the evening to find roaches scurrying in the kitchen and under the couch. Shocked by this discovery, we promptly left and decided to cancel our stay. We contacted the owner, who offered pest control solutions and suggested moving to the adjacent unit, but we declined due to the noticeable roach presence. I was unwilling to expose my family to potential indoor spraying chemicals. VRBO found my evidence insufficient (with videos and pics??), which was disappointing. Caution is advised for future renters. We quickly packed up and left, making sure not to carry any pests with us in our luggage. To clarify, these were German cockroaches, and I am familiar with the difference. The owner insisted there are two sides to every story after I mentioned leaving a review and declined to refund my payment. I suspect they manage the cockroaches while still renting out the units. In any case, rent at your own risk.

Perfection on Madeira Beach…
My boyfriend and I booked four nights here and I wish it could last forever. We have stayed on several properties up and down St Pete, Treasure Island, and Madeira Beach over the years and this is by far our favorite! Clean, beachy, and so comfortable! Did I mention it’s seriously 50 yards from a relatively private beach access?! We walked to John’s Pass for some dinners, drinks and shopping, and were just a short drive from some more fine-dining options. The beach was not too crowded and was beautiful, soft sand (which can be hard to find along st Pete beach sometimes). The house has everything we needed and was SO CLOSE to the beach! Being on the beach side of Gulf Blvd. makes a huge difference. We will DEFINITELY be back! If you go, try Slyce and Salt Rock for dinner… And Mad Beach Brewing for some great beer!

Location, location, location
This cottage was perfect for my husband and I. Beachy decor, and had everything we needed. Included beach towels, chairs, beach wagon, and umbrella. It is literally just steps from the beach, which was so nice. We could easily go for walks on the beach, or come back to the cottage for lunch or the restroom. It is also only 1/2 mile from John's Pass which has lots of shops and restaurants. We walked there almost every day, even if it was to just sit and watch the boats and dolphins in the bay. Madeira Beach is a wonderful area! We loved our stay and hope to return sometime!

Great location
Cozy, clean and comfortable bungalow, just enough room for two. The location to the beach and John’s Pass were within walking distance, which we took advantage of every day. Contacted the host with an issue and it was resolved with the hour. Very responsive to guest’s needs. We would definitely rent this property again!

Great for beachgoing, but location is also very loud as its close to main drag of Madeira. Very beachy furniture, in nice shape. Kitchen could use some pest control (and cabinet touchup because they look rough).

Its a cute place, I enjoyed staying there.I would stay there again .Their are a few things that need up dating, Bed sheets and conifer towels need a up grade. (Old looking and nothing matched). The inside of the cabinet and under the bathroom sink. Need a good cleaning.It would also be nice if their was a nice table and chairs out side to have lunch or just coffee in the morning. Theirs only one old table and a chair. The 2 adirondack chairs are beauitful ,But at 59 you cant get out of them.lol.

Exactly what we needed
Ultimately this came down to the location and price. You can’t beat it! Walked to the beach each day, walked to restaurants for lunch and dinner. It’s cute, quaint, and big enough to sleep a family of 3-4. Will totally book this again for a longer beach vacation.

Cutest Beach Bungalow
First off, Scott was great to work with. He communicated well and responded quickly to my questions. The bungalow was exactly as I imagined and hoped it would be; a beach bungalow! The bungalow was equipped with everything needed for cooking meals, laundry and beach towels and chairs. The location is truly perfect. The beach is literally a quick 300 yard walk from your back door. John’s Pass is less than a 5 minute walk and I recommend Sweet Brewnette for coffee lovers. My 16 year old had a great time as well. His friends stayed nearby and they had plenty to do all week. I’m already planning for next year; just keeping fingers crossed my dates are available!!

Just steps from the beautiful beach access. The bungalow was so comfortable and like having my own home in paradise. Safe area with Johns pass just few minute walk. It was clean and attractive.
