"I was scammed. The property doesn't exist. When I arrived at the specified address, I called the host who directed me elsewhere 11km away. Along the way to the new addresss, the host switched off and became unreachable. Expedia isn't helpful when reporting such as your chat assistant me an American phone number to call. The whole process blows your airtime and up to now my money went down the drain."

"We enjoyed our stay here for the most part. Everything was as we would have expected it to be in a VRBO listing except there were two amenities missing; a dryer and Air Conditioning. When we tried to contact the host about why these were listed when they are clearly not available in the unit, the host got angry with us and told us to vacate the premise in order to get a refund. It was late and this wasn't an option. We had previously written in to VRBO to describe this mismatch between amenities...

"The owner would not respond to messages and when I called said the apartment was not available. Shame on me for waiting until I was in Johannesburg to call, but I received so many Verbo confirmation emails I had no reason to believe it was not a confirmed reservation."
