"Literally booked this the day before we arrived, found it easily enough, completely off the beaten track, lovely and quiet, really lovely little place, ample big enough for a family, plenty to do in the area. 20 mins or so from Caerphilly and Cardiff, plenty of places to eat or shop, just had a really nice time. Cut short by some issues at home but we'll definitely be back for longer next time. Thanks for accomodating us."

"The lodge is beautiful and wonderful surroundings The view is amazing. Very clean and cosy and home from home with everything you need. Hot tub went down well with all. Dafydd was very welcoming and was just at the end of the phone if we needed anything. Already booked for another weekend!"

"The hosts were fabulous and blew is away with their welcome pack but is not suitable to sleep 4. Everything is just in one room and there's only seating for 2 unless you want to sit on a bar stool. The layout also needs rethinking because at one point my wife was in bed having a cup of tea and waved to the hosts as they pulled up in their car. If they switched the sofa and bed you'd get more privacy and be able to watch the tv from the sofa. Otherwise, it was great. Would recommend for a couple."

"The Shepherds Nest is the best Shepherds Hut we’ve stayed in, for space, amenities and for hospitality. It’s well built, furnished to a high standard and there’s a lot of thought gone into everything. Charlie and Carol were really welcoming and there were lots of little touches, and nice surprises on our arrival. The outside bath is great, in all weathers! We’d highly recommend."

"We just stayed here for my sister’s hen weekend. Although at one point we didn’t think we would make it due to restriction, he hosts could not have been more helpful to make it easy for us. "The quirky nature of the Shepherds Hut combined with the superb location were what appealed to us & we were 'not' disappointed! The Hut was beautiful & incredibly well kitted out with everything you could need. The welcome pack was a lovely touch & very much appreciated. We travelled with our pet dog & it was reassuring to be able to close the gate & know he was safe & secure. It was lovely to be able to watch the alpacas in the field by the hut too! This is a fantastic place to stay & unwind...

"We really enjoyed our stay, The shepherds hut exceeded our expectations, well equipped, cosy and in a great private location overlooking the forest. The hut was so lovely and warm with central heating and a log burner, the bed was comfortable, and the fixtures and fittings looked brand new. Also the rainfall shower was a lovely surprise. All we wanted was a hot tub so we booked this little getaway. They were so accommodating, a welcome bottle of procesco waiting for us, chocolates, hot chocolate, tea and coffee as well as having a box of thing in the cabin in case you forgot them, like paracetamol and new toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner which we thought was just a lovely touch!
