Traditional stone cottage with pool and river frontage

Le Four is a traditional detached stone cottage nestling peacefully overlooking the River Lot in a particularly interesting section of this stunning valley. This gorgeous cottage accommodates 4 people is very charming and comfortable, has a private pool and has riverside access where visitors can relax and bathe in the river. Conques, one of the most magical villages in France, is just 12 miles away.

This house has the X factor and is always the most popular of our properties all year round. We recommend early booking to secure your preferred time.

The property has been carefully and lovingly renovated by the proprietor, There is a large living and dining room with beamed oak ceiling and mellow stone walls. This attractive room has a wood-burning stove (with logs supplied); UK and French digital TV; sofa and chairs and the large dining table converts to a billiard table. French doors open out to a covered veranda overlooking the river. The kitchen has fitted oak units and is fully equipped. There is also a utility room with toilet, washing machine and separate shower room with hand basin. The south-facing veranda has a table and chairs and barbecue for al fresco meals. Visitors have told us that at all times of year, the veranda is so sheltered that they have eaten all their meals there. Bedroom 1 upstairs has a double bed and French windows opening out to a wonderful view of the river, whilst bedroom 2 has twin beds and a door leading to a small terrace and steps down the side of the house. There is also an upstairs toilet with hand basin. Full oil-fired central heating for low season holidays is available. There is a garage for one car and ample parking for additional vehicles.

The accommodation comprises of:

A fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven and gas hob.
An open plan living and dining area with dining table and chairs and comfortable armchair and sofas.
1 bedroom with double bed and 1 with twin beds
The bathroom has a shower, hand basin. There are 2 separate WC’s
All utilities, end of stay cleaning, bed linen, towels and pool towels are included in the price.

Grounds, pool and surrounding area

The swimming pool has been built into the rocks in a very sunny sheltered location. Sun loungers are provided.

In May and June watch for the local Lot Valley Moth, Saturnia pyri. It has up to a 6″ wingspan, is green in colour and notably found in the area around Vieillevie and Entraygues.

Below the cottage there is access to the river Lot, so visitors can enjoy river swimming or fishing (we can help with licences) or pure relaxation while kingfishers and herons fish and red kites and eagles circle the sky.

Paradise by the River Lot
The gite is absolutely charming, situated with complete privacy, very quiet, and one has the feeling to be the only people in the world. Very helpful 'guardians' are on hand to answer any queries. The cottage was clean and well equipped. Pool beautifully clean and wonderful to relax in after a day sight-seeing. Wholeheartedly recommend this property.
