"We had our coffee and tea every morning on the little balcony over the river. It was fabulous to see the park and all of the activity going on over there, especially all of the dogs. There is a laundry place right near by where we dropped off our clothes and they were washed and folded in just a few hours. Everything in town is just a short walk away. One note though - pay careful attention to the directions. There was another place with a very similar address that was just a short distance...

"This cottage is very spacious with 4 double bedrooms, with a huge kitchen and other large rooms downstairs plus a large patio. The kitchen is very well stocked with crockery, cutlery, and all sorts of cooking equipment - easily the best cottage we've come across for these things. The location is great for access to the hills and although you can walk to Keswick or an eatery, you'll probably need to drive for the most part. "We had a lovely stay in Cosy Cottage. It’s a lovely space with excellent heating and fire to keep you warm! The bed was also very comfortable and the shower pressure is excellent. Our only complaint was the equipment in the kitchen wasn’t brilliant, not good quality, quite old and occasionally dirty. Otherwise the whole cottage had been cleaned very well. "What a perfect location. It's in the middle of nowhere which suited us perfectly. The caravan is situated right next to a small stream, which was so peaceful to sit and listen to. It had everything we needed. No hoover though. If we had of known we would of taken our own because of the dogs. A couple of lights didn't work but it wasn't an issue. We really didn't want to come home. Great destination for some beautiful walks."

"Larger rooms and property than expected with a huge kitchen , central heating and every thing you would need to self cater. Quiet location with gated parking. Greatest views of Ireby and Uldale fells, and 100mtrs walk to the breattaking views of the Solway. Do not have any hesitation of this great propery but be aware you are close to all tourist locations but is a great getaway for walks, etc. One slifht issue, not reLly worth mentioning is that the grass needed cutting and the cumbrian...

"This is a lovely old building with a lot of character. Parking was included in our room rate and when we visited, we had no issues with finding a car park within the hotel grounds. Our room was spacious, and gave us everything we needed. It was quiet and the bed was very comfy. It was a short easy walk into town. We ate both breakfast and dinner there daily. Both were at additional cost to our room rate, but we felt we got good value. The 45.00 GBP pp for a 3 course evening meal was excellent value for money given the quality of the food and staffing. Probably too much food if you have had a late lunch. The second day we ate lighter during the day so that we could enjoy our evening meal more. The breakfasts were very good. On site bar area and sitting rooms were very relaxing. The resident rabbits in the garden were cute (even though we know they are vermin). This was a lovely place - we were there for 2 nights as part of a month long UK driving holiday. I would stay at this Hotel again."

"We had an unforgettable stay at The Grange Country House. The rooms were spotless, beautifully maintained, and filled with charm. The location strikes the perfect balance—peaceful, yet within easy reach of Keswick town and the surrounding fells. A special mention must go to Michael and Adam, who were courteous, welcoming, and genuinely keen to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. From great local tips to thoughtful little touches, their attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. The breakfast was simply outstanding—fresh, delicious, and served with a smile. We felt truly cared for throughout our stay and would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a warm and memorable Lake District escape."
