The accommodations were just what we needed during this time to gather with family for funeral services for the matriarch of our family with no additional worries. e experienced air conditioning issues. Tod was readily available -by phone- to help us repair the problem, because no AC on Sapelo is extremely uncomfortable. We would recommend this property to future visitors.

Sapelo feels like Home
Sapelo Island has always held a very special place in my heart. It is truly one of the unknown gems of the state, and I hope it stays that way. The history on the island is pure and untouched, as well as the culture| — if you want gift shops and boutiques, go to St Simons. We have stayed here a couple of times now, and absolutely love the tidal flat cottage. Tod met us at the ferry landing on the trip out, as always, he was very polite and courteous ( no surprise-his texts and phone calls prior to the stay were always polite, on point, and punctual.) The cottage was just as we remember from seven years ago- clean and orderly with everything we needed to enjoy an amazing family vacation (Once we figured out the dynamic of the coffee maker, and the fact that it did not have a decanter 😊). I honestly have zero negative feedback, there could have been nothing that would’ve made for a better stay.

Perfect Vacation!
Our stay was amazing! We ordered meals ahead of time from Barbara. They were delicious and delivered to our door. We were practically the only ones on the beach. During the busiest time, we shared miles of beach with 10 other people. Todd was extremely helpful and even meet us at the ferry to give us instructions and recommendation for the island.

What a fantastic restful place
We rented Tidal Flat for some well deserved relaxation. Tod, the owner, was simply wonderful from the minute I booked his home. He stayed in contact, explained the boat ride to the island, answered all my questions and met us at the ferry to ensure we were ok and knew what to do. He allowed us to use his “Tod Beach Mobile” while at the property. He helped me arrange cooked meals to be delivered to the house by Miss Barbara and Mr Chris ( we also rented a golf cart from them). By the way; the food was outstanding and delivered hot every time. The house was so nicely furnished and comfortable the moment you walked in. Tod had a wealth of information for us to look at with directions to everything. There is a very small store on the island which has a limited selection of necessities and food, hours are sparse. The beaches were easy to get to and we found tons of sand dollars. The porch on the house is so comfortable we could not resist taking naps on it and contemplated sleeping out there at night. The house stayed very very cool with the great A/C. The house is well stocked with everything you might need. Did I mention it was spotless? The beds are very comfortable. I would strongly recommend you bring enough food to keep you going as well as drinks. Space on the ferry over is very limited so pack only what you need. There were four adults on this trip and we all had a wonderful time. We will be back. This is a must stay place on Sapelo island. Especially if you just want to

Sapelo Island Haven
This is a beautiful new home with well thought out design features, high ceiling & stunning warm natural wood. A unique feature is the huge covered front porch with outdoor seating. The kitchen is spacious; lots of cabinets (beautiful wood cabinets painted a bluish-green palette- reminiscent of sea glass color ) and well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, etc., everything you might need. Spacious island with new stove top & large area for food prep & cooking. Refrigerator is a new model with great storage space. Dining area is roomy with an inviting big farmhouse style table and ample seating. Living area is large with comfy furniture, tv, board games & blankets- a great place to kick back. Bedrooms are inviting with comfortable bedding & warm natural wood. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Communication with Todd (Home owner) was outstanding & timely responses to questions. Bonus: right across the street - the Sapelo Island library & a new playground & basketball court. A lovely home.

Great getaway!
We loved our time on Sapelo. Beautiful beaches to explore. The house is great. Very clean and well appointed. We loved the large front porch. Todd helped us get acclimated before the ferry and made sure our getaway was special. We got some meals from Barbara which was nice since you have to bring all your food with you. Chris gave us a tour of the north end of the island which was interesting to see.

Beautiful quiet place to enjoy the beach
My wife and I spent 5 peaceful days at the house on Sapelo Island. Our daily walks along Nanny Goat Beach on the Atlantic side of the island --a 5-minute drive from the house--were wonderful, with few people and miles and miles of sand, seabirds, shells, and dunes. Mr. Chris and Mrs. Barbara provide us with excellent Southern-cooked fare brought to the house during our stay. Mr. Chris took us around the Island on the first day explaining a bit about the Island’s history and the Geechee community of Hog Hammock which the house borders. From our second day on we used the Suburban provided with house to get around the Island, including to the beach. The owner, Tod, made ferry arrangements for us and met us at the ferry departing for Sapelo to insure that all went smoothly. The house was very comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. There is good wifi internet access at the house, but mobile signal access is limited to certain areas of the island and generally not at the house. For people seeking beauty, quiet, a wonderful beach, and like to be well fed, we unreservedly recommend this property and a stay on the Island. We hope to spend more time here in the future. It is not, however, a place to go for nightlife, crowds, and tourist concessions.

Beautiful home
Sapelo is definitely off the beaten path. If you are looking to spend a week in nature or just enjoying the amazing elevated front porch of this house, this is the place. It comes with a Surburban which is really nice to help navigate the island. The owner is extremely helpful. We were there for a wedding and unfortunately, Hurricane Nicole shortened our trip so we were only able to stay two of the four days we booked. Tod kept us up to date on the ferry closure and reopening throughout the storm and provided extremely helpful directions and information on all there is to enjoy on Sapelo.. If I come again to Sapelo, this is the place I would choose to rent again.

Amazing!
Our family had a great stay on Sapelo. Tod was a fantastic and communicative host that filled us in on all the details before we arrived. Barbara and Chris were excellent resources on the island. Barbara's cooking was amazing (I'm a little late writing this review, and months later my son is still talking about Barbara's meals!). It was great having a car to get around. Sapelo was an amazing place to experience and we'll surely be back at Tod's again!

Perfect balance of rustic and comfortable
If you've never been to Sapelo, you need to understand that it takes a little more effort to get there. There are no porters to carry your luggage and there are no grocery stores or restaurants on the island. You bring everything you need with you. But, once you get there, it is divine. The beach is pristine and almost unpopulated. During the week of our stay, we were the only ones on the beach almost every day. It was beautiful and the water was perfect. And so is this house. It has all the comforts of home, including a great A/C, which is high on the list of my city-girl needs. The house comes with a vehicle to get you to the beach, which is also a huge plus. And there are beach chairs & beach towels, so you don't have to bring your own. I highly recommend this stay, if you are willing to work a little harder to get there. You won't find any beach more peaceful and serene, or any house more clean and comfortable.

Truly Wonderful!
Wow! This is the best vacation we have ever taken. What a special place with such kind and helpful hosts. We saw dolphins and a bald eagle on the way to the island, then had our own dolphin show at the gorgeous beach (that we had all to ourselves). My son is 5 and said this was his favorite trip. The suburban was so helpful and fun while touring the island. The landscape almost didn’t seem real, it was so beautiful. The cabin is perfect. We cannot wait to return!!
