Host cancelled trip without further notice

When I arrived at the property with my three kids in the late afternoon and rang the doorbell as instructed, someone else was already occupying the place. This left us stranded without a place to stay in a foreign country, making it even harder to find alternative accommodations at such a late hour. When we called the host's number provided in the booking, the person told us that the property was not a rental. This situation seemed to be either a scam or a case of the host double-booking the property through another platform. After several frantic calls, we finally received a cancellation notice, but there had been no prior warning. Thankfully, after a lengthy and stressful phone call, VRBO was able to help us find another place to stay. This experience was incredibly distressing and unacceptable. Be cautious and avoid renting this property to avoid a similar nightmare.
