Filthy apartment
Although the apartment was in an excellent situation and could have been brilliant, when we arrived it was dirty and smelt foul. The toilet seat was broken, a tiny freezer compartment (the details said ‘freezer’) was dirty and smelt. The pillows were stained and had dirty pillow cases on them. The bath mat was so hard and crusty from dirt that you wouldn’t want to stand on it. The shower curtain smelt as though an animal had urinated on it. The kettle was ingrained with dirt, the net curtain in the bedroom black, blankets dirty and food remains left on work surfaces.
As no one could come from Foncia until Monday we had to go and get cleaning products to thoroughly clean the flat before our holiday could start. The dirt was disgusting. One young assistant from Foncia did try to help on the Monday and brought new pillows and the toilet seat was fixed. However, the manager never spoke to us directly and refused to give us the name of the area manager when we asked. The only thing we were offered was free cleaning at the end of the holiday which we refused as we had already done that job.
It was such a shame that the customer service from Foncia’s management was so poor as we wasted time cleaning and sorting out issues which spoilt our holiday which we had been looking forward to. If the customer care had been better then things would have been very different as the apartment itself was close to the sea and a good size.
Having been to St Jean de Monts several times with other companies, we expected better.
