The picturesque village of Maria Alm is nestled between the mountains of the 'Steinernen Meer', the 'Pinzgauer Grasberge' and the Hochkönig mountains in the Salzburgerland. The region offers an impressive mountain landscape and green alpine pastures.
In winter times, the free ski bus takes you to the large Hochkönig ski area, which stretches across the villages of Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach, in just a few minutes. This ski area offers around 120 kilometers of perfectly groomed pistes, 3 fun parks and over 30 cable cars and lifts, 30 kilometers of cross-country ski trails, floodlit toboggan and curling runs as well as numerous romantic winter hiking trails. Another well-known ski area is the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn with up to 270 kilometers of pistes, 70 modern cable cars and lifts and numerous other attractions. This ski area can be reached in less than 30 minutes by car.
The village is also a real sports paradise located in the middle of the Salzburg mountains and offers many leisure and sports activity options such as the Prinzenberg Natrun with the Prinzensee lake and forest ropes course, around 340 kilometers of certified hiking trails and countless kilometers of e-bike and mountain bike trails. In summer, the Sommerstein adventure pool at the eastern end of Maria Alm, the Obsmarkt adventure pool in Saalfelden and the Seespitz and Thumersbach lidos on Lake Zell in Zell am See offer plenty of swimming fun!
From the apartment you can reach the centre of the village within 10 minutes. Here you will find several restaurants of the highest regional quality, a good selection of shops, an indoor pool, outdoor pool and the tourist office. There are further restaurants and shopping facilities in Saalfelden and the capital of Salzburg can be reached in around 1.5 hours by car
