"The place was many kilometers with switchbacks, away from Resende, a shack with an open green front door. We could not even scale the driveway. The tires on car kept spinning. It was a frightening neighborhood. We just took the long winding road back down and headed to Fatima. It took me a few days to recover from the traumatizing experience. A lovely experience in the Douro Valley
"We had an amazing two-night stay. Maria and the staff go above and beyond to share restaurant recommendations and insights on the region. The room was comfortable and the pool a nice treat. There are wineries within walking distance and Pinhao is a short drive away. We highly recommend staying at Casa do Santo because it provides an authentic Douro experience that can't be matched."
