"The room could have been cleaner (around the toilet, microwave, and the mirrors). I found what looked like a small camera on the TV base and when I disconnected it and took it to the front desk, I was told it was a TV sensor so the remote will work to change channels and adjust the volume. I was very unhappy with my stay. The sheets were clean, but very damp. Not sure if it was from the mattress...."

"Be careful not to miss it on the road - that said, once you turn in from 390, the place is unassuming but highly hospitable. The room we stayed in met all our needs - including a kitchen nook equipped with cooking needs and plates and silverware. We were in the midst of 90-degree days, but the air conditioning worked just fine. "Although not a fancy 5 star hotel, the Fern Ridge was a very pleasant surprise! We had expected the lower rate to mean a small room without much comfort, but found the friendliness of the staff to go above and beyond what one would receive at ANY rated hotel. It was a short walk to the lake area and heated pool, especially since we ended up with a cool, cloudy week, the kids enjoyed the heated pool.
