Welcome to Water's Edge!

Water's Edge is a beautifully renovated cottage set right on Seneca Lake. It's just minutes from dozens of wineries, breweries and the quaint town of Penn Yan. With more than 90' of beachfront, a lush and level yard, a covered porch, picnic table, plus a 30 foot dock -- it is the perfect spot for you Finger Lakes vacation.

The main level features a fully renovated 'great' room with the kitchen, dining area, and family room - all surrounded by 3 walls of windows offering a panoramic view of one of the widest sections of Seneca Lake. The picturesque fireplace made of local river stone and new tongue & groove pine ceiling bring the natural beauty indoors. The side door leads to a private covered outdoor patio for another spot to relax in the shade or away from the rain (should Mother Nature send some your way.)

At Water's Edge you can get away from it all, yet still have the comforts of home:

The new kitchen features granite counters, all-new stainless steel appliances, new cabinets, a built-in microwave, full-sized refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, baking sheets, mixing bowls, utensils, grill tools and more.

Settle into the cushy leather sofa and love seat to enjoy the view, play a game, read a book, or - if you just can't leave technology behind - watch tv on one of the two smart TVs or use you own devices with the complimentary WiFi.

You get more than amazing lake views -- you get direct, easy access to the lake! The private beachfront is great for wading and swimming or launching a kayak or canoe. The dock is great for fishing or jumping in for a swim. Unfortunately the dock and property cannot accommodate power boats.

Waters Edge summer vac.
Very easy to gain access. We were looking to relax and take advantage of some of the wineries and a few dinner spots and that we did. Kitchen was well stocked (could use a pair of scissors) Loved the windows in the family room, the privacy and the covered porch for morning coffee. All in all a great stay. Landscapers did come a bit early…7:45am.

The most relaxing vacation I’ve had. We had a fantastic time swimming and kayaking in the lake. Went to the falls and saw a super moon over the lake. Beautiful. Everything was perfect and the host/hostess were on top of their game with communication. 10/10. We’ll back back.

Great Location !
Had a great stay ! Loved the location and seclusion. House was totally clean and tidy. (exterior doors could use some work, and outdoor chairs need replacing). Overall, happy with our stay and will probably book again !

The house is very old and dirty. It has a smell. I had to go get a shower liner because the one that was in the bathroom was disgusting. No air conditioner. Fly strips on the windows. I left 4 days early, I couldn't stay.

Pictures are outdated and listing is inaccurate.
Pros: Waterfront, close to vineyards,15 mins to Watkins Glen, house has cold air conditioning. Cons: Pics VERY misleading and outdated. Nicer furniture in pictures than what actually exists in house. There are also no boat whips on the dock to tie a boat, even though the owner told me prior to making the reservation that there were. I Only booked because there was supposed to be a boat hoist and dock whips. Prior to making a reservation i mentioned to the owner I wanted to make sure this rental could accommodate both a 16ft boat as well as a jet ski. He told me it would. I made the reservation 6 months in advance and received a confirmation email stating I would receive check-in instructions the week of my arrival. A month prior to the trip I received an email saying I was only allowed to bring one watercraft and which require approval after sending them pics of the boat. If I sent them pics, only then would I be sent the location where i was allowed to park the trailer, which was several miles from the rental- very annoying. Even those instructions were confusing and there was no exact address provided. I was told to look for a gravel road,but instead it ended up being field where I was supposed to leave the trailers (since trailers not permitted at rental). Very dangerous boat lift, as there is no way to safely get from the dock into the boat, so everytime I would have to get into the water waist deep then climb into the boat. Very sharp rocks in water, wear shoes!

Great stay
Karen and Todd were great to work with and very accommodating. The house offered everything you would need to enjoy time at the lake. Secluded property that offered privacy. Great location, which in my mind was equal distance from both Watkins and Geneva. Penn Yan was a short drive and had everything you would need to supply your stay. The house was clean and had plenty of room for a family of 5. A plus was they allow pets, which was nice since we could bring our two dogs. The entrance to the property was a little tight getting around the little bridge but I could get my extended bed truck in and out without any problems. We enjoyed our two week rental and I would not hesitate to recommend the property to anyone looking to rent lakefront property on Seneca.

This home is just lovely. It has stunning views, is quiet, and centrally located to Geneva, Penn Yan, and Watkins Glen. We enjoyed our quiet Thanksgiving on the water immensely!

Waters Edge is Awesome!
We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The property is very private, relaxing and exactly what we were seeking on our vacation spot. Communication with the property manager and ownership was very responsive and helpful. We are strongly considering this property for another go round in 23. Do not let the reviews of hard parking scare you. Yes its a tight turn but all very manageable. Thanks Waters Edge!!!

Great week on a beautiful, quiet lake. Birdwatching, buccolic unfenced Mennonite fields, local produce, wineries, breweries, Women's Rights Museum, Montezuma wildlife refuge. We rented kayaks. Great rental for two couples.

Nice somewhat rustic lakeside house
Positives: A/C worked well along with ceiling fans. Nice kitchen and full fridge/freezer. Comfortable and clean bedrooms, beds, and upstairs sitting room. Good water pressure and amount of hot water for showers. Two flat screen TV’s. New dock with swimming access. Many birds and fish to watch out of the huge lake-facing windows which provide gorgeous 180 degree views. Negatives: Guest message in the Lake House Journal about a “not-so-friendly water snake” the week prior scared my daughter too much to swim in the lake (we saw the snake and it was 4ft long so we were a bit scared too not knowing if it was venomous). Lots of bugs had accumulated on 2 out of the 3 beds that had to all be killed upon arrival. Adirondack chairs in photos were MIA. Pots and pans had to be washed before use. Ran out of toilet paper. Bathroom area has a very old dank outhouse kind of smell. Back porch screen kept falling out of screen door. Weed wacker used to cut the entire lawn at 7:30am waking the whole family.

Beautiful location but online description is not accurate. The renovations were inconsistent and the house is not well maintained (screen doors were both broken, multiple spots of pet urine were on the carpet and the windows were open to air it out when we arrived, the odor was overwhelming , the living room furniture and rug were covered with pet hair). We contacted the manager and they did send someone to clean the carpet.

Splendid lakefront property
The dog was in the water in the first half hour. He didn’t want to get out. I think he had a better time than we did! We visited during Memorial Day week. The weather was beautiful with a passing storm or two. Overall this is a great lakefront property with many recent updates. We would definitely stay here again. It is secluded and the only contact we had was with the heron and ducks as we were the only people staying in the area. The stairs to the bedrooms are steep and one should be aware that it won’t be easy for people with mobility issues to climb them. The bathroom is small but, the water pressure is great. I despise a dull shower. The covered patio is good for getting out of the rain yet still allows enjoyment of the outdoors. The only real issues are the screen doors (as others have mentioned) both are in need of replacement or just get rid of them altogether. Do yourself a favor and prop the door open so you don’t have to deal with it sticking. Problem solved. Loved all the updates, loved the location, and loved the privacy. All in all a wonderful time away from the busy day to day grind.

Small but Serene
If anyone is looking for a place to escape into the Finger Lakes for a few days, this is perfect. Fairly secluded, but still with proximity to neighbors. Stayed in April, so a little chilly to have much lake activity so it was absolutely peaceful and relaxing. In total we had 6 women and we all comfortably shared the bedrooms and bathroom for 2 nights. Living space is very comfortable. About 15 from Penn Yan proper and 30 from Watkins Glenn and a stone's throw from several wineries. Would definitely stay again for a longer weekend.

Perfect fall getaway
My mother, sister, and I had a great stay. Three perfectly sized bedrooms all with lake views. The lake views were stunning and the fall foliage on the east side was awesome! The fireplace was perfect for the fall and living space was perfect for three adults. However I am thinking that if I came with my kids it would be great too - there is a separate den space on the 2nd floor. The kitchen was stocked with dishware and some basic essentials like salt and pepper.

We were very comfortable as a family of 4 adults 2 children and 2 lab dogs.
Was very pleased being right on water with dock. Brought our own kayaks. House was very tidy and nice. Don’t bring coffee filters , they’re many in the kitchen. Wineries close by and found lots to do in the area!!

Property was nice. Cleaning crew showed up after we arrived. Felt it could have been cleaner. Water level at dock was very shallow for our boat with two big rocks just off the Starboard and Port sides as you pull into dock. We had a 24' bowrider, No way a trailer will fit down at house so call manager for arrangements to store trailer before you go to house, water levels must have been down because there was only 1.5' clearence under my boat at the dock. (Trim up when docking) Good note, owners and managers were very good, location is good but hard to get in and out of. many wineries very close.

Very nice house. Great location.
Beautiful house. Spotless clean. Well stocked kitchen (we cooked a lot) large comfortable bedroom's. great shower. door at top and bottom of the steps a plus. large yard and nice fire pit. New dock. Fishing not so great. Not from lack of trying. But no one's fault. Had a great time. Any problems or questions immediately addressed.

The property is on a dead end private road that requires you to travel over a small bridge. Larger vehicles/boat trailers will not fit. The house is nicely remodeled and was fully stocked with everything. 2 of the 3 bedrooms have closets, but no hangers. The dock was very nice and worked well for our boat, but the lift that is pictured is not functioning at all. The nice little walk out beach area was also a nice touch and we enjoyed it. We had some pretty crazy storms come through our first day which messed with the plumbing and septic tank causing workers to be there for 2 days straight. The property owners don’t live in the state so it was a lot of “too many hands in one pot” trying to figure who/when/where when trying to get these issues addressed.

Great location right off the water, tucked away with no traffic and tastefully remodeled. Communication was easy as was check in process. There was a few minor things that should be handled like missing door screens, doors that don’t lock or close correctly a noisy bed spring, but nothing that impacted our stay too negatively. Renters should know there’s no WiFi streaming due to limited bandwidth. Again, it didn’t ruin our trip, but it’s nice to know ahead of time. Overall we really enjoyed our stay

Peaceful, relaxing getaway
Cozy, comfortable, spotlessly clean cottage in a perfect location on Seneca Lake, midway between Watkins Glen and Geneva. Private, secluded yard with mature trees and plenty of shade for warm afternoons. Spacious bedrooms with comfortable mattresses. Air conditioning units and ceiling fans kept the cottage cool during 85+ degree days. Neighbors are friendly but not intrusive. Multiple wineries, craft breweries, restaurants, and shopping within a short drive. Great location for kayaking, fishing, bird watching (ospreys, kingfishers, bald eagles, great blue herons). Overall a wonderful week away. Highly recommend.
