"We were delighted by the old-fashioned charm of this hotel, which has surely survived despite all the odds in the current financial climate. We booked a 'superior' double room which turned out to be enormous, the only setback being that it was up 2 flights of stairs and the second of these had very narrow steps. However the room was lovely and so was the bathroom (which had a jacuzzi!) All was nice and clean. On one evening they had a carvery which was very popular and deservedly so. Breakfasts were 'continental' style, but plenty of choice. The bar is an old-fashioned gem."

"This place is absolutely amazing. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed and more! Our evening meal was some of the best food we've ever eaten. We also used the wellness facilities which were equally fantastic. Overall a superb place."
