Huguenot Lakefront Storybook Cottage

The Huguenot cottage is situated on a grassy expanse down to the lake, surrounded by oak, pine, crepe myrtle, and mimosa trees. 6 acres total. The large private deck is furnished with chairs, side tables, and ceiling fans. In the Huguenot yard, defined by English hedgerows, there is a charcoal BBQ with side table, fire pit, and a stack of complimentary firewood. Beyond the yard, in the larger park like area, there is a horse shoe pit and two large swings that old and young alike love! With 1200sq ft total, three bedrooms - two private queen bedrooms and two double beds in the loft bedroom, one full bathroom off the main living area and one full bath as an on suite to a queen bedroom, this cottage accommodates eight(8) guests maximum. The kitchenette is equipped with dishes, utensils, basic cooking equipment, toaster, coffee maker, gas range and oven, microwave, and fridge/freezer. Central heating and air conditioning. Rate is based on four (4) guest occupancy, $20/night per additional guest up to eight (8) MAXIMUM. NO UNREGISTERED GUESTS permitted on property.

We also have - Reformation Hall at Old Camp Joy

Reformation Hall is the newest addition to the historic Christian resort at Old Camp Joy. The mini ballroom seats 80 guests for dining or 96 guests for festival / theater seating. The 1700 SQ ft hall is completely wheelchair accessible. Adjoining are three lakefront luxury cottages (one is also wheelchair accessible) for overnight accommodations. The entire resort is nestled within 12 acres of park like grounds on a beautiful cove at Lake O The Pines. The unique architecture employs historic details such as turrets, a vaulted barrel ceiling in the main ballroom and a beautiful domed ceiling with large chandelier in the entrance hall. An abundance of glass facing East as well as an outdoor furnished deck allows gatherings to enjoy the lake and incredible views. Fine furnishings combined with the old-world style architecture and an oversized fireplace, virtually eliminates the need to decorate unless of course a particular theme is desired. Tables, chairs, tablecloths, and some embellishments are available as is stage lighting. The large bright commercial Kitchen accommodates family style cooking as well as off-site catering.
Onsite parking - Parking is available for up to 50 cars for an event and 60 cars if the cottages and event center are both utilized. Please carpool to reduce parking needs - Thank you.
Reformation Hall is the ideal setting for Parties, Family Reunions, Biblical traditional Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthday Parties, Business Retreats, Church Retreats, Fishing Tournaments, Memorials and Photography.

Cottage on the Lake
This was our second stay at the Cottage and it has easily become our favorite place to stay!!! Tom and Katherine are the most gracious and kind hosts we have encountered through VRBO. The cottage is 2 bedrooms with a loft and fits our family of 4 perfectly. The kitchen is little, but has all you need to make a meal. The views from the patio are stunning! We had a few little showers and were able to just sit on the patio and enjoy the sounds of nature and look out on the lake. (The only minor thing that might be a negative for some is there is no WiFi or TV. We however didn’t have any issue with that, but it’s worth noting for others.) If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway at the lake, this is the place for you! We will be back soon!

Peaceful
Stayed here with my mom and 2 kids (9 & 6). We had a wonderful time. Kids loved the swings. I loved sitting on the porch in the morning before it got too hot listening to all the birds and trees in the breeze.. The view is so peaceful. Hosts are very nice and helpful. My kids kept saying we need to come back with Dad.

Friends fishing trip
I met an old friend from Shreveport there for two days of fishing and relaxation. Tom and Katherine, the owners were super nice and accommodating. The cabin was really nice, the A/C was cold and the place was spotless. The grounds were manicured as well. We’ll be back.

Great stay during work trip
We were working in the area and wanted something nicer than a roadside motel. Tom and Katherine were fantastic hosts, and the space is absolutely gorgeous and immaculately maintained. Mary's cinnamon rolls were delicious and a really nice extra touch
