"The entire property is ideal for a tropical vacation. Not necessarily a Hawaii vacation. It was about 45 min from Kilauea, an hour from a swimmable beach, 5 minutes from Fissure 8 (private property in spots), and 25 min from the ocean. The worst part of the house was Kilauea didn’t erupt! I don’t blame Matt but I think he could’ve done something to help it erupt. All pictures were taken within 45 min of the house. One thing I didn’t take pictures of: the fruit trees! The strawberry guava tree is right in front of the house and they were so good! I ate some every morning for breakfast. Matt has supplies for the house, for the beach, for everything. It’s like going to your family’s house where they know everything to do so they prepare for it vs a hotel. Last but not least…the greatest treasure of the house, Mango!"

"The house was as described, the owner was very accessible and very responsive. maybe a bit more backyard landscaping would enhance the outdoor grill and table but outside of that our stay was great, we would be back."

"I enjoyed my stay here. The place is one of a kind and each room is unique. I was reluctant at first because of the shared bathroom, but I never had issues when I needed to use it. There is also an additional bathroom outside that I didn’t read about or see until my last night. The outdoor hot tub and shower were all placed uniquely in the back of the property amongst nature. The location is super remote and takes some patience trying to find, but you stay here for that reason — off the beaten path. The grounds indoors and out were well maintained. The artwork at the entrance and books inside are provocative and edgy which matches the vibe of the place. The kitchen, dining area, living room and patio were spacious enough for those who want to be alone. Locks are provided on every room door for security. There is a house cat that lurked around. Not a fan, an allergic, but that was minor compared to the beauty of the place. Complimentary snacks are provided in the room, however some water in the kitchen for guests would have been good. Highly recommend "

"Great place with suburb views.. a little off beaten path but that’s what we were looking for.. Host was wonderful and house was clean n had everything you need. Would stay here again. "

"Nice place to sleep while we were enjoying various activities around the island. Please read the amenities. If you are coming from the main land and are custom to A/C. Please note that A/C is an amenitie on the Hawaiian Islands. If you get past that, the weather is fairly comfortable, ceiling fan and a floor fan was provided. Leave the windows open for a breeze. Comfy bed and in a secluded area. Thanks for the memories. Everyday we had a visitor, I knew it was going to be a great day!"

"Me and my family stayed a week here and we loved it! The location was convenient and the area was very nice and quiet. The home was clean and the owners were very easy to contact and kept in touch. The ac came in handy since the weather was very warm and humid when we visited. I would definitely stay here again and will definitely recommend them to others visiting the island. "
