Bayou St John, in Mid-City, was named the 7th Best Neighborhoods in the World by TimeOut Magazine, 2023.

The Red Bayou House is fully renovated to have an inviting, light-filled, and functional layout, while maintaining the New Orleans' character and charm. Luxury hotel-like amenities, fully stocked kitchen, large dining table, wonderful workspace, comfortable designer queen beds, independent and private bedrooms and bathrooms (not shotgun style), and a wonderful private deck.

The house opens up to a large, spacious living, entertaining and dining space. Ten foot ceilings throughout the house creates an open and spacious setting. The living room has two deep and comfortable West Elm couches, perfect for lounging around. The smart tv has basic cable, HBO, Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.

Many guests have cooked Thanksgiving means in this fully stocked kitchen. French press, cuisinart coffee maker, coffee pod maker (coffee pods provided), barware, microwave, dishwasher, gas stove and oven, pots and pans, and cooking tools.

The guest bedroom has a queen size bed, luxurious and comfortable mattress, and a large closet. The guest bathroom is located across the hallway. There is a smart tv with Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.

In between the guest and master bedroom is a wonderful workspace for those looking to get some work done while in town. Flanked by two bookshelves, the workspace has a black granite countertop and a very comfortable Herman Miller chair. Next to the workspace is a perfect, cozy reading room/yoga/meditation/napping room, with a custom twin size bed. This room is perfect for kids or babies, with a pack & play and a ComfyBumpy for their safety. This is my favorite little nook in the house.

The master bedroom located at the back of the house is quiet and peaceful. It has a queen size bed, with luxurious and comfortable mattress, and opens to the back deck through French doors. The master has a smart tv with basic cable, HBO, Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. The bedroom gets a lot of light due to the horizontal windows above the French doors, perfect for morning people. The large walk in closet leads into the bathroom, with a wonderful glass enclosed shower.

Guests can relax/enjoy the private and spacious deck with cushioned lounge chairs, dining for six with cushioned seats, or lounge out on the sofa. Grill on the gas grill (propane tanks provided) and enjoy the outdoor space.

Please take care of my home as if it were your own. Please respect the neighbors and keep noise levels to a minimum during late night hours. No smoking inside the house. Smoking is allowed on the front porch and back deck (ashtrays provided). Pets will be considered with additional cleaning fee; only if pets are potty and house trained as well. It’s a residential neighborhood and I want to be mindful of my neighbors, so no barking dogs when left alone.

SUMMER DISCLAIMER: Hurricane season and the summers in New Orleans can be very hot and humid. Like most homes in this city, the AC system will have a hard time keeping the house cool at 65 degrees all day. Cancellations will only be allowed for named Tropical Storms/Hurricanes. Please be mindful of this when deciding to book for the summer here in our lovely city.

Superior property...

We've stayed in many bnb's and vrbo's and have been hosts as well. This property stands well above the others. Besides it's comfort, cleanliness and provisions, it's ideally located for access to all parts of the city.

Delightful Red Bayou House

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming home. The house itself is beautiful and creative, but also very comfortable and well outfitted. The location is great. It was our first time staying in this sweet neighborhood, and we loved it. Great bakery (Nolita), restaurants (1000 Figs), and bars (Pal's) within walking distance. Also very close to City Park and other great restaurants (Parkway, Liuzza's by the Track, Gabrielle). We would stay here again in a second! Thank you, Ninh, for sharing your lovely home.

Wonderful

We fell in love with this house. I felt like I was staying at a friend’s house in New Orleans. It is gorgeous and you can tell a lot of care and detail went into this house. City park nearby is a must visit. The host was very kind and gave great recommendations. We can’t wait to come back.

A Perfect Christmas on the Bayou!

The place is absolutely stunning and our family felt right at home in this comfy home. This was our 3rd Christmas in Nola and by far our best experience. The amenities and incredible artwork are beyond the listing description and the place immediately feels like home. Our daughter got engaged on Christmas Eve which made it even more special. If it’s available, rent it! We will be back.

Big Easy Getaway

The home is decorated beautifully and has everything youll need. Very close to town in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Went on a fun swamp tour and Amelie and Cohon a must for food. Celebrated my hubbys birthday at Brennans, home of the bananas foster. Overall great trip.

Beautiful New Orleans home

Beautiful, quaint property in New Orleans. I've been to the city many times and this is by far my favorite place I've stayed! Ninh is very thoughtful and welcoming and the home has an artist's touch. I only stayed 3 nights and could happily stay out the month. We came for the Taylor Swift concert like many others this weekend and we hit the jackpot with this property. A Gem in New Orleans

This was our first time to New Orleans. Nina’s house was the perfect addition to our trip. The decor fits the feel of NOLA. Although the weather didn’t cooperate everyday, we were still able to explore the neighbourhood and take short Lyft rides to other attractions. The local Parkway Bakery has great Po Boys and we also visited Pal’s lounge and a nearby Mexican restaurant. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed for our short stay. Ninh was very quick to respond to any questions we had. If we are ever back in New Orleans we would definitely stay here again. Thanks for being a great host!

Southern Comforts Best

It was absolutely perfect from a very smooth check in, to the amenities and how stocked the house was, to how absolutely stunning the space was decorated and designed. This owner has impeccable taste and absolutely took care of us. The beds were comfy as were the couches, everything was clean and smelled wonderful upon arrival, the outside porch area was so cute and nicely arranged. The owner was super easy to get in touch with if you do need anything and is hospitibal ebough to leave a liat of places to eat and shop with any other informatuon you would need for your stay. It was all incredibly thought out. I wish more stars were possible.

Home away from Home…

The Red Bayou House was the perfect spot for a long weekend… Had anything and everything you’d find in your own house as far as amenities are concerned.. Ninh has set the standard for future rentals.. Couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable place to start and end our days in New Orleans.. Very quiet street in a cool neighborhood.. Just book it…

Beautiful house in New Orleans

Ninh”s house was exactly as described. It was within walking of many restaurants and City Park. Ninh responded promptly whenever we contacted him. The home was spotless and very comfortable- from the sofas to the beds. Highly recommend!

Perfect Spot

We stayed at this property for the second time while visiting our children who live in the same area. The house is immaculate and beautifully appointed. The host is terrific and responsive. The house is in a great location for walking to neighborhood spots including Bayou St. John. Highly recommend this rare find!!

Beautiful home, great location!

We enjoyed our stay. The owner was very responsive when we had questions about the home. It was nice to arrive to a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival. It is only an 8 minute drive to the French Quarter and a short walk to City Park. My only issue was the noise from the construction in the mornings directly across the street and water coming into the master bedroom after a bad rainstorm. Overall, a great place to stay!

A beautiful gem in a quiet neighbor hood - Mid City

A gorgeously appointed home complete with wall art, house plants, comfy sofas, lots of towels, fully stocked kitchen complete with salt&pepper, olive oil, etc. This little gem is in a very walkable area. 15 walk to Neyows Creole Cafe which was wonderful. 12 min ride to French Quarter. There is a great sunny patio in the back with a grill, several coffee tables as well as a dinner table for 6 outside. Our gracious super host was an excellent communicator. We were very pleased.

Amazing!

Ninh’s home was perfect. Our first night we never made it out because we enjoyed the vibes at the house so much. On top of having everything one could need and being impeccably thoughtful and aesthetically appealing, Ninh was an amazing communicator from the moment I booked until the end. I hope the house is available next time we have the chance to visit New Orleans—the bar has been set too high to settle for less.

We loved the rental! Great location. Great house layout and well stocked. The bathrooms and the patio were our favorite features. There was parking directly out front, but Ubers and Lyft were readily available. Nihn, the owner, had a chilled bottle of champagne waiting for us after our arduous trip from Hawaii!. A Wonderful Just Like Home Experience

This was by far our best experience with VRBO/Homeaway which we use all the time when travelling. The house is exactly as shown beautiful inside and out , spacious, well decorated , well stocked with the essentials needed when renting and most of all very clean. But what made our experience a 5+ was Ninh the owner. He went above and beyond and made us feel extremely welcome in his rental home. The home is situated in a great location for exploring New Orleans everything very close. I would highly recommend a car rental and parking was not a problem just outside the house. If you are truly looking for a flawless home rental experience in New Orleans this is your spot.

Book this beautiful home!!

We have rented many vrbo properties but this far exceeded any of the others. The online pictures don't do justice to this beautifully decorated home. Ninh had everything there that guests would need. He left us a lovely welcome gift of wine, had a book with local recommendations that were spot on, was responsive and communicated with us throughout our stay. The house was incredibly clean and we could walk to many restaurants and city park. Street parking in front of the house was always available and the security system in the house made us feel very secure. We would (and will) recommend this property to anyone asking for a place to rent in NOLA!! Thanks Ninh for sharing your gorgeous home with us.

Most AMAZING VRBO stay ever!

First, my correspondence with the property owner, Ninh, went above and beyond my expectations, even before we stayed at the property, and throughout our stay! And then when we arrived at the property, you just completely fell in love with the house! Ninh’s house is beyond stunning, it’s impeccable! Ninh has thought of every last detail for your experience in New Orleans to be a magical one! The house has everything that you could ever possibly need and not only has a fully stocked Kitchen, he has thought of every single detail in all the bedrooms and bathrooms so you have everything you need from the comforts of your own home. And the great bonus was the backyard deck! We more than enjoyed the back yard and when we were not out touring, we spent all our time at the house in the backyard! If I could give this house a 10 + rating instead of a 5 star, I would! We didn’t want to leave, and even stayed an extra night! Thank you Ninh for your more than generous hospitality, and for truly spoiling us! We will definitely be back!

Can't Say Enough Good Things about This House and Owner

We use VRBO frequently, and this house is probably the best one we have rented. The pictures don't do the house justice. It feels much bigger in person and my teenage son chose the "small nook" as his room over the traditional bedroom because he thought it was cool and cozy. We especially loved the patio that was like having another living room as it was so spacious and clean. We were impressed with how quiet the house was and the thick black out curtains and comfy beds made for great sleeping. Parking was super easy and check in was equally as easy. The house is so well appointed. Besides the super fun and beautiful decor, the host stocks anything you would need. We had more towels than we could ever use, tons of luxurious blankets, any kind of cleaning product you could ever want, and all the pots and pans you need to make a meal. We also loved the thoughtful suggestions on places to eat that the host leaves for you. Don't miss Parkway Bakery that is in walking distance. It was packed so we ordered food and drinks and brought them back to the patio for a great afternoon. Last but not least, the owner was very communicative and answered any question we had super quickly.

Amazing Stay in a Great Location

We decided to rent a home instead of trying to deal with the hustle and bustle of a hotel. This home was amazing! It was as advertised and more. The owner was gracious enough to allow us some flexibility with checking in, as we were driving down and got into the city early! In addition, we were provided with all the essentials needed when staying somewhere! We were less than 10 minutes from the quarter and it was a really quick Uber/Lyft ride away ($8 - $10) rides. The amenities were on point with the semi-private patio, the extra towels, the soaps in the kitchen and bathrooms, the extra paper items (cups, towels, toilet paper). I've stayed in several homes before and some of not all of these items you would need to bring with you or buy when you arrive. The owner makes everything super easy and very accommodating. If I had to pick something to say it needs upgraded, it would be the shower heads in the bathrooms. The bathrooms are very very nice, but the shower heads themselves appear to be a little older and could have more pressure for us girls to get our products out of our hair. However, it does the job decently well. We would definitely recommend this place to others and would most definitely return on our next trip to New Orleans.
