"We loved the two staff that helped us check in. They were frank and humorous about the midges. The breakfast was great and the staff was excellent in the morning. The room was standard. Bed was comfortable especially after a day of hiking."

"Nice little place. The shared bathroom was musty in the showers. Lake front is across lava field and highway. Really cute huts, clean linens, kettle in room and heat. It was convenient location for our ring road trip!"

"We rented the cottage for one night. It was a short stay. It really is a cottage out in the middle of nowhere. But the cottage is fully equipped with kitchen, and we were able to see some northern lights. Enjoyed the stay."

The general area offers everything: lava fields, crater pools, steam vents and boiling mud, a scenic lake with lots of birds, farms with horses and sheep, a variety of hikes, several restaurants, and thermal baths.
