This off-the-beaten path #beach is located on mainland Greece and is called Mylapotamos. There is a free car park at the top, where this photo was taken from. Simply descend the steps down to the beach, which has course sand. Usually the waters are quite calm and is a nice place for swimming, but on this particular day the waters were rough. There's even a little taverna at the bottom if you're hungry or thirsty!

"An extremely beautiful hotel, built of stone, in the Greek style. Resting here, it is as if you fall into an interesting story. All the staff, especially Helen and Yanis, are very friendly. "We had a great apartment which was clean, spacious, and well equipped. The hotel is well located, and has several swimming pools, super gardens and very friendly staff. Our special thanks to Michalis in the restaurant, who used to look after our special dietary requirements and brought fresh pies to our table every breakfast time. "We had a lovely stay at Keramos Hotel in Zaros. The studio was simply furnished but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were kind and discreet, always welcoming. "This place is perfect for a stay off the beaten path. There are a few good restaurants, beach bars, and even a small dance club within walking distance. The property itself has a private beach with push button ordering service. The photo is the private beach area, always had a seat. I can’t complain about anything! We really enjoyed a weekend here. It is 15€ to Heraklion town center. No reason to rent a car."

"Amazing property. Staff and front desk were super nice and courteous. One thing I didn’t realize is you’d have to stay there for a minimum 3 nights to dine at one of their fine restaurants. Other than that, the buffet food was amazing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overall, we had a great experience and would come back if we chose to!"

"Lovely property with a private beach and within walking distance to many restaurants and cafes in Reythmno town. Everything is superbly clean and comfortable. Staff are very helpful and friendly - they did a great job organising a day trip for us. There are three pools (two outdoor and an indoor heated one). The only drawback is that the gym is tiny and can only accommodate three people at a time, so if you are a regular user, you'll need to book slots ahead of time. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel! "
