"Our family stayed in this cottage for one week in July and another week at the end of August. We enjoyed both stays! The first week coincided with a heat wave. We missed having air conditioning, but we were grateful for the many ceiling fans. Everything was as expected. The only surprise was that the bedroom with twin beds, living room, and second bathroom are all on the lower level. Just something to be aware of if you're traveling with kids. It also meant not being able to use the living room area in the evenings, since it was directly beside the kids' bedroom. The close proximity to the Bowman forest was nice. We explored the trails a few times and got nice views of the lake. Unfortunately, there is no public swimming access on Lac Escalier, so we drove 25 min to Air, Eau, Bois park to take the kids to the beach. We also discovered a great playground and splash pad in Val-des-Bois."

"I liked everything except the thin sound barrier between rooms. You could hear phone alarms in the morning, showers turning on, toilets being flushed, people talking. The rooms were very clean as were the lobby and hallways."

"Nice room with a sliding door to access outside. We were happy to have a grass view with chairs. Well maintained. The front main entry has a full kitchen with a large table for family gatherings as well as a separate dining area with another large table all nicely decorated. Clean. Air conditioner was not annoying. Beds comfortable. We were headed west and wanted to avoid Ottawa city traffic so this was perfect! "
