"The only security between my family and anyone on the street (in a rather rough-looking neighborhood) was an unlocked door to the building and a hollow-core apartment door with a simplistic key code. There is no loading zone to park to unload a vehicle, except for the driveway of the bodyshop next door. While the apartment itself was generally clean, the building was not.
