Great place!

Overall we loved this rental home! We have stayed at Maravilla before and love this area. The home was super clean and a good walking distance from the beach. I think it would be nice to purchase new cooking supplies and maybe look at updating the bathrooms.

Great family vacation!

Our family hasn’t all been together in over 3 years. This property met all of our expectations. Very comfortable beds and plenty of space for 6 adults. We especially loved the proximity to Destin’s gorgeous white Sandy beaches! We will definitely be staying here again.

Spring Break 2022

The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. There were just three of us plus our pup -- we had more than enough room. It was an easy walk to the beach/pools and our dog enjoyed hanging out in the backyard.

Great family home!

We loved our stay! The cottage had almost everything we needed in the kitchen. The master suite is huge! The other bedrooms are good sizes too. It is decorated pretty and is a very comfortable place. They even have some beach items in the garage for you to use. Close proximity to the beach, as well as restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Place and Stay!

Stayed at the Maravilla cottage the last week of July with my wife and her family. There was plenty of room for six adults to cook, lounge, and sleep. Having the 2-car garage was a nice to park a car and have enough space to store beach items. We also loved having the fenced-in backyard which was nice during the evenings. For future trips down to the Destin/Mirarmar Beach area, this will be a place that we will try to book!

Very nice property with close beach access

The home was comfortable and clean with all the amenities we needed, the location was near everything even with all the road work going on. We felt safe and secure in the gated community, we would consider staying again if visiting Destin again. Having the fenced backyard was great for our dogs, just had to chase the black snake away. The only negative is the kitchen oven needs updating because skillets can’t set flat. Great stay overall!

Second time here

We were here several years ago and stayed in this same cottage. Would have stayed longer than our week but it was filled. Only used the pool briefly and hot tub. Quite a few kids around. Not bad kids but lot of kids. Spring break plus people want out after the pandemic. Everything was clean on the property. Beds were good. Needed a bigger pillow or rather another pillow but could not find a pillowcase. No biggie. Would try to get this cottage if we are back in the area again.

Some Problems

Gate code which we were given prior to our arrival was wrong. We arrived late at night and were not able to enter. Fortunately, someone arriving after us let us in and gave us the correct code. This is a three bedroom house and we were supplied with 2 bath towels, 3 wash cloths, and 2 hand towels. Ironing board cover was not useable and we had to buy one so we could do ironing. Blow dryer was broken. Floor was very dirty. Otherwise everything was fine.

Perfect cottage for our family of 5.5!

Our family had a great stay at Maravilla Cottege. The property was well manicured and the cottege was clean. The convenience of the garage was nice. We brought our own supply of kitchen and toiletries, as well as visiting the Publix(all close by). Great restaurants within walking distance. The fenced in back yard was the best feature, especially for our Golden. There is a nice Wooded area behind the fence that attracts a lot of feathered friends, fun for bird enthusiast. With that said, We would suggest that the owners consider changing out the campground style charcoal grill to a Gas grill and updated patio set/umbrella. We spent most mornings and evenings on the patio, enjoying the wildlife(bring your bug spray for the mosquito’s). The beach...aah...super easy walk through the property, and crossing the road was fine. Drivers were very courteous about stopping. The guys in charge of the beach chairs/umbrellas were great. We made sure to tip regularly(at least $5 a day). Our “kids” are really adults so they offered to save us the same spot the duration of our stay. They don’t typically do this, but we wanted a spot near the back, so they didn’t mind. Get there by around 8:00am if you want to Snag a good spot. Hoping to be repeat visitors to the Cottege!

Family Vacation May 25 - June 1, 2019

This is a great 3 bedroom unit. My ONLY complaint is that that whole unit needs a deep cleaning. The baseboards in the front bathroom were very dirty. Other than that the the beds are comfy, there are plenty of towels in both bathrooms, and plenty of room. The small fenced in back yard is great for small pets. I wouldn't suggest a large pet just because of the amount of room. But it was perfect for my mini yorkie. I would make a couple of suggestions: 1. A new coffee pot. The current pot leaks EVERY time you pour coffee. I think it is around the little black rim around the top of it. No matter how hard you try to not get coffee every where, you still do. Hence the brownish color on the counter top in front of it. We even placed paper towels down in front of it to try to keep it off. 2. A NEW BROOM. There is a dollar tree broom and a straw broom. We swept the floors every day and the dollar tree broom just really doesn't cut it. Just my thoughts :-) Overall we enjoyed the stay! And I am sure your family will too! Happy Beaching!

Great place, but has particular rules

Impressed at first, but then things started to bother us. The water from the fridge stopped working after about a day and a half - we then were forced to buy water bottles. The internet cut out for an entire day, not a huge problem but we like having it. The TV service is poor, in fact the primary bedroom TV would cut to a black screen every 30 seconds, while watching. We planned on cooking often, since the home has a full kitchen. However, the stove-top is so outdated with uneven burners (dangerous), couldn't cook without burning the food. These things didn't affect our vacation too negatively. Outside of the home was a different story, and will cause us to explore other homes for next time. 1. This home is the only house in the complex (possibly more) that forced you to walk your garbage 1/4mile to the complex dumpsters. All other homes provided trash service, you simply leave trash in can on driveway. 2. We called SEVERAL times to ask about having a golf cart, and we were told the community DID NOT ALLOW them. However, during our stay nearly 85% of the homes used golf carts (children driving too), yet WE couldn't? 3. Returning from our beach day, landscapers were trimming trees/shrubs/bushes and didn't stop as we approached. My daughter was hit with tree limbs (we have pictures of the driveway mess that was left behind for a day). 4. Listing states it's a 'short walk to beach' or 2 blocks... It's about a 1/2 mile walk, while carrying coolers, bags, etc.

Cute little cottage

Just spent ten nights there. Cute little cottage. The managers were quick to respond to any questions we had. A few things need to be updated. Some of the wallpaper was peeling off and a few other little things. It says there are not hair dryers but there are two of them. One in each bedroom. The tvs are still the old fashioned box ones except the main bedroom. The main bedroom has a big walk in closet. We did not use the other two bedrooms. They are small in size. There was hand soap and detergent and things like that on hand. The living room furniture is a little worn but no problem to us. The cottage is a little walk to the beach. I would say maybe ten minutes. The north pool is five minutes away. This pool and hot tub is actually heated. The last two days the hot tub was broken down. The beach is beautiful. Don't bother buying beach chairs. We did and then noticed there are chairs in the garage. Just be careful. Some are worn. We did donate ours so they are in good shape. Just bought them. Also left a bucket and shovel and noticed there some other beach type stuff. There looked like a men's speed bike in the garage also. Supposedly the comlex is suppose to put beach chairs on the beach but we never saw them. There are a few fish type restaurants within a little walk. There are wide sidewalks along the oceanfront. Pets are not allowed on the beach but I did notice a couple of them. I would not have a problem going there again.
