Sunday morning as we were getting ready to leave we were treated to a mother bear and her cub walking the game trail at the back of the property. "You NEED an SUV!! The cabin itself was very cute! We were not aware that our car would struggle to get over the railroad tracks and up and down the mountain. The road is narrow with lots of potholes and the turn to get onto the road where the cabin is located is steep. We needed to go up and down the mountain several times a day and it was not pleasant and took quite a toll on our car. The cabin was very cute! The property owner called us the first night to check and see if we needed anything...

"This was our second stay at Mountaintown Creek Escape and just as wonderful as the first time. Such a gorgeous property. The home had everything that we needed and is so comfortable. We cooked all of our breakfasts and dinners at home and the kitchen is well equipped. The balcony over the river is the perfect place for coffee and cocktails. We definitely spent most of our time out there. Contact with the host was easy and prompt. We love this vacation home and plan to return yearly!"

"Cottage was two blocks from downtown Blue Ridge. We drove downtown because of steep walk to downtown. The cottage was very nice, peaceful. Downtown Blue Ridge is great for shopping, restaurants and the Scenic Blue Ridge train."

"The house was cute and close to downtown Blue Ridge. Beautiful flowers in the yard. I always leave a tip for the maid but this time I didn't, the towels smelled as if they had been in the washer wet to long before they were dried and the mattress pad on the bed in the master was in need of a good washing, otherwise the house was clean and comfortable."
