"This was a great historic house to stay in. All modern conveniences while staying true to the structure and history of the home and area. We enjoyed our days visiting Antietam Battle Field, Sharpsburg, and surrounding towns. Beautiful area with lots to see and very friendly people. It was nice to come back at the end of the day and relax in the house with plenty of room unlike a hotel room. Price was great also. "

"My family and I were looking for a scenic and peaceful stay while exploring the area. This home was perfect for what we were looking for. The property was set back in the woods, very quiet, with great back porch views of the Potomac River. The home was very clean, well furnished, and had plenty of room for all of us. "I spent a wonderful few days in the Catoctin Mountain area, hiking and learning about the local history. The house is really unique and full of rich history. Be ready for some basic furniture, but get immersed into the theme of the property. Elizabeth was extremely responsive and helpful. I definitely recommend a stay here!"

"My sister and I and our 3 adults daughters stayed here for a wonderful reunion in beautiful City Park. We came from Boston, Albany, Chicago and West Virginia. The house was nice enough but kitchen and bedrooms were quite sparse, no dressers or luggage racks for personal items or suitcases."

"Above our expectations! Beautiful home and property. Very clean! Everything needed was supplied. The concerns that we all shared were the wasps on the back porch that seem to be nesting behind the bottom porch outlet and 3 small nests under the table that we removed because one of us was stung, right outside of the back door is a soft deck board that someone may eventually fall through and the small space for the gorgeous peacocks. We definitely suggest a larger peacock pen. An awesome back...

"The house is a beautiful property on the West Virginia side of the Potomac River. Despite problems caused by events outside of the owners control (hurricane), they remained in contact and had the problems worked on immediately. "
