"We loved our stay at Johanna’s Kelafas home. The home was very private, beautifully decorated with many personal touches and everything needed for our stay. The grounds are beautiful, flowers, herbs, fruit trees! We especially enjoyed the fresh grate fruit! Great place to enjoy day trips to the beach, rural villages for an authentic Greek experience and restaurants in the area. Johanna was lovely and very responsive with recommendations to the area. Don’t hesitate to book her place!"

"We arrived on Wednesday 6th of September. We collected the rental car and headed towards our destination. We had already been advised by the owner that we would be met at the start of the village by her representative Michalis. The owner had already given coordinates and Michalis contact number. When we arrived at the village we rang him and he duly met us. Michalis guided us up to the property and shown us around. The villa is absolutely gorgeous. "Our stay in Spilia was perfect start to finish - Manos was brilliant and on hand for anything we needed throughout (& kept us very well fed!) His booklet full of recommendations was really useful as well, we did/saw/ate lots that we wouldn’t have known about without it. The photos don’t do the villa justice, it’s very private and the flowers and bell tower and mountains in the distance make the most beautiful peaceful surroundings. "The place is located in a beautiful hilltop with a great view. Inside it is equipped with a decent kitchen. The host is lovely. However it has no internet so you have to rely on a local phone network which is not great because you are in the mountains. Just something to know beforehand. I had to work and had to go to Kalyves when I had meetings. But other than that we enjoyed the great views and the small villages in the area."

"Great location. House is 3 bedrooms with 2 baths. Very quiet neighborhood up the hill yet close to Chania old town/Venetian harbor by car. Also close to airport. House is very clean. The view of the sea is amazing with 3 balconies (2 facing the sea). You can enjoy your cup of coffee in the morning without any disturbances. Kitchen is fully equipped, but we only used the kettle and nespresso machine. Host, very responsive and replies within mins to any questions you might have. Great stay"

The owner, Peter, was incredibly helpful and attentive in every way, and even treated us to a real Cretan dinner the last night of our stay. We laughed so much that evening! "Upon our arrival we were upgraded to a suite and it was excellent. the front desk staff were super accommodating and always seemed to be working, no matter the hours. The rooms are spacious and super clean. We rented a car and there was underground parking. We love walking and could easily walk to the old town ( about 20 minutes) and eat and shop. However, there was also an amazing bakery about one block ( around the corner)from our hotel where we picked up breakfast and sandwiches for the day....

"The owner is amazing. My phone had died so I didn't directions to get to the hotel. I found a shop owner that called her and she walked 10 minutes to where I was and walked me back. Each room is individualize and mine had a private entrance. There were lots of personal touches that made the place feel special. I can't recommend this hotel more. If I am ever back in Chania I will stay here again."
