"On a flying visit to Bergerac, we were looking for a quiet hotel to stay two nights. Luckily we came across La Carreterie. It was ideal for what we required and our host Thierry went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing. Really enjoyable breakfast. Hotel has been renovated to a high quality quaint French country style hotel. Look forward to returning "

"Very hospitable owners. The place is a little rustic, but clean and comfortable. We ate both evenings there and the food was very good and reasonably priced. The pool area is the sun all day and the garden is lovely. We stayed two nights and the room wasn’t serviced but that was ok for us. I can’t say enough how great the hosts were, really nice people. "We really enjoyed staying at Les secrets de Tifayne. The place is very pretty and quiet, hosts very friendly and helpful. We had a great room, full of character and clean. Breakfast was good and with plenty of local products. We also bought some of their wine. We will not hesitate to stay here again and recommend this place to anyone who desires a quiet place near Saint Emilion. It is definitely 10 out of 10"

"The castle is in a beautiful spot. Close to the vineyards and Saint-Emilion. We were in France for 12 days and this was our favorite part. The Patio room is absolutely beautiful! "

"Creaking floor in an attic room wasn’t great. Nice view from the window, if you were very small. Tricky staircase to deal with and very low ceilings in corridor. Looked like a fabulous room was unoccupied on ground floor but we weren’t offered it (even for a price) Hostess nice and helpful but no English. Continental breakfast was nice. Great location"

"Celine's property and lodging is just great, very comfortable room and bed, strong wifi, separate shower and toilette rooms en suite, and a very nice continental breakfast featuring Celine's brioche, yogurt, and confitures. Security is strong and parking is right outside the house. On top of all that, Celine is a very friendly host and is both accommodating and full of information about the area. We found her by accident, and we look forward to staying with her again."

"We stayed here for a few days around a rugby world cup match, and it was a really lovely start to our trip. The chateau is beautiful and so peaceful - perfect for when you want to retreat from the chaos! The bedrooms are spacious and so well made up, and we were provided with evaporative cooling fans in the room to help with the heatwave. As it's more remote, you will need to travel a little for lunch and dinner, but it's absolutely worth it for such a unique stay."

A perfect location for exploring St. Émilion and surrounding smaller villages. Five plus star!!! Would definitely come back for a stay and recommend to friends. "
