Welcome to the beautifully restored Huckers Bakery, once the beating heart of Learmonth and established in 1884. This unique home blends historic charm with modern-day comforts to create a truly memorable stay for couples, families, and groups.
Lovingly renovated, this rustic-chic retreat honours its bakery past with thoughtful details—like a peek-through ceiling panel revealing original slat roofing, and a lounge that once served as the shopfront. Now a cosy haven, it invites you to unwind by the wood-burning fire or curl up for a movie in comfort.
The kitchen is fully equipped for home-cooked meals and boasts country styling with modern convenience—plus real wine glasses, which our guests love! Share meals or morning banter around the six-seater dining table or sip your coffee in the sun-drenched window nook overlooking the lush garden.
Step outside and you're greeted by a huge, private backyard perfect for kids, pets, and peaceful afternoons. Enjoy meals al fresco on the expansive deck, stargaze from the sun loungers, or gather around the firepit as the sun sets over Lake Learmonth.
Sleeping up to 6 guests, the home features:
Master bedroom with a king bed and luxurious ensuite (complete with a soaking tub)
Second bedroom with a queen bed
Third bedroom with a double bed
Main bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower
Guests rave about the calm, quiet atmosphere—despite being on the main road, traffic noise is minimal—and how relaxing and spacious the home feels. Whether you're sipping cider at Cafe Sidra just 2 minutes away, dining at the Stag Hotel, or taking the heritage walk around the town, Learmonth’s warm hospitality and rich history will charm you.
Nature lovers will enjoy views of Lake Learmonth just across the way, while adventure seekers are only a 20-minute drive from the Ballarat CBD, Botanical Gardens, Art Gallery, and the immersive Sovereign Hill gold rush experience.

House Rules
To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, please follow these guidelines:
Be Nice: Treat our staff and contractors like the rockstars they are.
Smoking: Allowed only outdoors, away from doors and windows. Don’t worry, the plants won’t mind.
No Firearms: Leave your slingshots and cannons at home.
No Fireworks: Because we don’t want your holiday to end with a bang (literally).
No Illegal Activities: We’re not running a crime drama here.
Keep It Down: Channel your inner ninja and keep noise levels reasonable.
Guest Limit: Only the number of guests listed in the booking can stay overnight. No sneaky sleepovers.
No Parties: Let’s keep it cosy, not crazy.
Pets: Only dogs are allowed at our properties, and only with prior approval. Check the listing for specific pet rules—Fido deserves a holiday too, but only if we've given the green light!
Upon Check-Out
Dishes: Wash and put away. Pretend you’re at home and your mum is watching.
Turn Off: All lights, heaters, and coolers. Help us save the planet.
Pet Cleanup: Don’t leave us any surprises.
Clean BBQ: If you used it, give it a scrub. We love a good BBQ, but not the cleanup.
Trash: Put it in the correct bins outside. Channel your inner recycling guru.
Linens: Don’t wash them. Seriously, we’ve got it covered.
If these rules are broken, we may have to cancel your stay with no refund. We really don’t want to do that.
