Domaine du Vignau, Cottage of charm and tradition

The Domaine du Vignau is a magnificent property - labeled 4 ears Gîtes de France - consisting of an 18th century mansion with its outbuildings, a beautiful park and a private, heated outdoor swimming pool. The gîte is freshly renovated. A large reception lounge, a modern and well-equipped integrated kitchen with dining room, 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms ensure the comfortable reception of 15 people! All on a living area of 300 m². You can access the shops and services in the center of La Jonchère-Saint-Maurice (400 m), as well as many activities, on foot or by bicycle, via a beautiful private driveway. (1 km): tennis, fishing, soccer field, pétanque field, playground… Many aquatic leisure activities (swimming, sailing, water-skiing ...) are possible at nearby Lac de Saint Pardoux.
The Estate is located in the heart of Limousin in the Monts d'Ambazac, a superb region where activities are numerous: heritage, hiking, mountain biking, water sports, horse riding, paragliding ... The hiking and mountain biking trails run alongside the Estate. The Dordogne and Périgord are not very far either for a little getaway.

The owners' second home, very occasionally occupied, is located at the end of the residence
Possibility to rent additional rooms in this part (up to 12 people) on request.

Magical Family Holiday
Our extended multigenerational family had a perfect holiday here together. The house exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was perfectly equipped for catering for large groups. The outside dining facility was perfect for evening family meals together and the table tennis table added evening entertainment. The pool was immaculate and we all spent many lazy hours there together. The village, a short walk away, was ideal for grocery needs but more importantly daily bakery runs. The house is breathtakingly beautiful and has a magical quality. We plan to return one day.

Wonderful!
We had an absolutely wonderful time staying in this beautiful mansion. We played rounders in the field, lazed by the pool and went for the walks in the surrounding countryside. Our hosts could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended!

Wonderful house for families
This was a perfect house for our three generation family holiday. There was plenty of room, enough bathrooms, big dining table and outside table, lots of sun loungers and tons of French character. The swimming pool was a bonus, especially as it captured the sun all day long. We loved the surroundings, rustic old buildings, beautiful courtyard and large field area, not to mention the woods behind the property with a full on mountain bike centre!

Lovely family house a short walk away from village La Jonchère St. Maurice
With 9 adults (4 couples, 1 single) and 2 children (aged 3 and 1) we spent our annual family vacation at la Domaine du Vignau for 10 days in June 2019. We had a great time there and are certainly considering returning here next year. The house is just lovely, full of 19th century details. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, as depicted on the website. The kitchen is luxuriously equipped with 2 fridges, 2 dishwashers and ovens – we cooked family dinners there every night. We also enjoyed having dinner at the large table in the courtyard, with a spectacular view on the village and countryside. Enough plates, glasses and other kitchen basics are present. For those who enjoy to cook as much (and elaborately) as we do, I would advise to bring your own (sharp) kitchen knives/casserole/scale etc. One of the other aspects we particularly loved is the easy access through an old driveway to the nearby village La Jonchère: boulangerie (closed on Mondays), tabac, café, small shop, boucherie and fish seller (on Thursday mornings). The visit to the local playground behind the church was a nice daily excursion for our daughters. For the more extensive grocery shopping we drove to the local Super U and Lidl in Ambazac (10 mins). There are some nice hiking/running routes to the nearby Arboretum and around the lake in the village La Jonchère. One of us also brought his own fishing supply and joined the local fishermen at the lake, permit can be bought at the Tabac. We’ve also taken advantage of the possibility of visiting the local tennis court near the lake at 500 meters or so (basic, but sufficient – preferably bring own rackets and balls). Limoges is a 30 mins drive away and there’s enough parking facility in the centre. The Musée National Adrien Dubouche is certainly worth a visit. We would also recommend visiting Oradour-sur-Glane, 45 mins drive away. Gaelle was our contact in the area and she responded quickly and discretely to all our questions.
