"Staying at Traditional Machiya Hotel Shiomachi-An was the highlight of my trip! The sushi dinner was delicious, some of the best sushi I've ever had. The fish was so fresh and flavours were superb. The rooms were decorated in a beautiful style, full of traditional Japanese decor. It was amazing to stay somewhere special. The owner was very warm and welcoming and I'm so impressed that he runs this place himself. The location was excellent, set away from the super busy area, but close enough to walk to the sights and shopping. Thank you for the lovely travel memory."

"We loved this Hotel, it is a beautiful hotel, if you want to go to Miyajima Island this is the most convenient hotel, they have there own port where they can take you to the Island in a fast ship, they take you back to the hotel too, they gave me free the ticket to Miyajima Island, I just had to pay for the return, fair enough for me, we rented a car so parking was very easy right there at the hotel very convenient, we went to Hiroshima Peace Museum and it took us around 25 min in a car, we are a family of 4, so the room was big and everyone has there own bed and the view from the room is breathtaking, all windows with ocean view, beautiful sunrises every morning, also the breakfast restaurant has beautiful ocean views too and wonderful breakfast at the 23th floor, also the G7 summit reunion was here in this hotel in 2023 so cool. "

"An amazing experience. One of the highlights of our entire trip to Japan. Miyajima itself is extremely touristy and crowded, but still worth it for the views, shrines, temples, street food and the pesky deer. This hotel is a haven of tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle yet only a very short walk from the action. The staff guide you patiently in etiquette for a Ryokan. Both the evening meal and breakfast are cultural and culinary experiences and the onsen baths were lovely. Sleeping on the futon and tatami mats was much more comfortable than I expected. It’s not cheap by any means, but I think it is well worth it for the overall experience."

"Traditional property, friendly and welcoming. We felt like we had a true Japanese experience. Set meals included and vegetarian options were provided when requested in advance. Free shuttle provided from the ferry port. Towels, flip flops and beach mats available for the small beach infront of the hotel. Only minus point was no bar. "

"The location was less than a 5 minute drive from the airport and the base. There was a grocery store and two 7-Elevens within walking distance. Only thing that would be beneficial is a change machine for the laundry, since it is ¥100 coin-only."
