Located in central Kihei, nestled on the northern end of beautiful Halama Street. Family-owned and operated legal short-term rental. This ocean front, 2 BR 1 BA unit, has a full kitchen, bathroom and a sofa sleeper pullout in the living room. It’s located on the ground floor, with a private entrance and a covered porch with a gas grill. A larger picnic table and a gas grill is available for use in the back yard, along with beach chairs to watch the sunsets and lounge chairs for sun tanning or just relaxing. The beach is about 300 feet from the building with a large yard of green grass and palm trees leading to the seemingly private beach. Enjoy the amazing sea turtles that crawl up and rest on the sandy beach with good snorkeling, kayaking, SUP, wind and kite sailing, pole fishing, shelling and more. Don't forget to keep an eye for the passing whales. Ocean equipment is available at the numerous rental shops in town. Centrally located near banks, post office, stores, medical clinics, supermarkets, shops, restaurants and more. Tucked away from the big resorts and high tourist filled areas, you can enjoy your own little piece of paradise. This is Unit # 1: 2BR/1BA (downstairs). We also have a recently remodeled 1 BR 1 BA first floor unit, an upper 2BR/1 BA unit (Contact owner for more information and pictures). The apartment building consists of a total of four units and every unit is ocean front. Stairs are necessary to access the all units, including those on the bottom floor, cottage, backyard and beach area.

Amazing place!

The house was just as described. Right on the beach, so clean and had everything we needed. Mike is a wonderful host who gave lots of great recommendations. His place is stocked with everything you need for the beach, snorkeling and hanging out. We will be back!

Awesome!

Perfect place to stay. Quiet, private and close to the beach. Best place for a Maui sunset. Michael is the best host by far. Always has suggestions of what to do locally like places to eat, things to do, etc. He's an awesome guy!!

Island Paradise

We took our family of five to Maui to celebrate Christmas. The house was perfect. Michael was a great host, gifting us a fresh pineapple, Christmas cookies, & multiple ideas for how to spend our time on the island. Being able to walk out the back door onto the beach anytime we wanted was the best!

We stayed at this house 5 years ago and vowed to return. The host, Michael, is a wonderful host! He is helpful in every way. The property is perfect for watching sunsets, turtles, and whales from his yard. We hope to return!

Family trip to Maui-3 adult children

Property was perfect for our family! Unit 1 had two bedrooms and a fold-out couch in the living room. Host Michael was wonderful to chat with. Lots of history in the area and good recommendations for things to do. Wonderful to walk out the back door across a green lawn and be right on the beach. Saw turtles as well as some whales in the distance. Adult kids spent time in the water. Used it as a homebase for seeing all of Maui, but certainly could have spent a lot of time here relaxing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Amazing!

This house is everything and MORE! We had an amazing time and Mike was a pure pleasure to work with. The house is equipped with everything you need as well as most things you could want! There are chairs, umbrellas, water shoes, flippers, snorkels, sand toys, and boogie boards! You can show up with a bathing suit and be ready to hit the beach. The yard was wonderful! A volleyball net, bocce balls, and comfortable chairs make for a truly enjoyable day. When you’re done in the grass you can run straight to the beach. We had no less than 3 green sea turtles swimming in the surf with us, every day, right off the beach. And the whale shows were incredible. Sunsets, whales and turtles made our vacation top notch. And to top it all off, you are close to everything in Kihei! Thanks Mike.

Perfect Maui Experience

This was our first trip to Maui and Michael made us feel immediately at home. As soon as we arrived we saw the sunset from behind the house just as the picture in the listing shows. Michael was extremely helpful in giving us places to go and explore. Additionally the property has a variety of beach accessories, snorkel gear, water shoes, backyard toys and much more. The property’s location close to many stores made it easy to run out if we needed to get anything. Overall it was an amazing trip and Michael and the property made it a perfect experience.

Beautiful beach home

My wife, 3-year-old and I stayed in the bottom floor two-bedroom unit. The property is beautiful, with a long grass lawn that leads to a low-traffic beach. We happened to be the only unit occupied during our stay so it felt very private. There is more than enough room for everyone even if the other 2 units were booked. The location is excellent and we will likely book out the entire house for a larger family stay next time we visit Maui. The owner was extremely friendly.

Invertí mucho tiempo buscando un lugar especial para llevar a mi familia a Maui, somos expertos en acampar y viajamos por USA pero somos inexpertos en rentar hoteles, etc; pero la palabra que puede describir nuestra estancia en esta propiedad es que fuimos Bendecidos! Hidden gem

We absolutely loved our stay! Michael was extremely kind and our communication was perfect. The property is super clean and up to date. The yard and ocean are like something on a post card. Honestly it was so picturesque. The location is perfect. Close to so many things. It’s pretty easy to get around the island with a car, and this location is perfectly in the middle. I highly recommend a stay here & we cannot wait to go back!!!

Beautiful and so relaxing

We had a wonderful stay, the location of the home is the best part. I walked the beach every morning and saw a turtle or 2 on the beach. Hi home is right on the beach, easy access to parking, and great amenities within the house. Michael has thought of everything for his guests, a grill, beach chairs, towels, fins, coolers, an ice machine, stocked kitchen, it's a wonderful home. I will tell all my family and friends and definitely stay here again! Five Stars for sure!

Great spot in paradise!

Great property location at the end of the street with a long sloping lawn to the beach. Sunsets every night from the end of the property to the water. The beach is uncrowded and feels private. The unit is equipped with everything you need. We loved our stay here.

Highly recommended

This was one of our best VRBO experiences. The Owner was very helpful and responsive. The house was set up with all the beach equipment: chairs, boogie boards, snorkel/goggles, towels. The location is very close to restaurants and grocery. Everything was clean and in good working order. This particular rental is a portion of a larger house, so you share the incredible backyard with the other units. We felt like the units are separated well with no sound issues. Each unit has it's own separated outdoor patio area that face directly out to the backyard and beach. We would highly recommend this rental!

Wonderful place and a terrific host

Our family stayed at this property 4 years ago, and we finally returned this year. I think this property is a gem. The giant lawn is great for lounging in a hammock, playing catch, and running around with the kids. The beach is great too. We rented stand up paddle boards and used them right in front of the house. We visited in July the first time, and in April the second time. On both visits we saw groups of turtles swimming just off the shore. We hope to return! I also love staying in Kihei and the easy access to everything we need. We felt right at home.

This property was absolutely AMAZING!

Michael was an amazing host! He went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I'll be back!

The location of this place is absolutely beautiful. We have a huge lawn and then the beach. It felt like we had access to a private beach. Michael stocks the house with everything imaginable. Beach chairs, beach shoes, water activity gear, and he also provides recommendations. I read everyone's review that they saw turtles, but I didn't and was super bummed. But the last day when I was leaving there were two swimming near shore. It was soo cool! If you're looking for a place with a great view, I would totally recommend skipping the hotels and staying here!

Ocean-view house in great location of Kihei

Enjoy a wonderful and relaxing vacation in this well equipped house with straight access to the ocean. Mike is a great host to ensure a stress free stay. 2 bed rooms, one bathroom, one living room, nice patio, loads of beach stuff, large garden with lawn and palm trees up to the ocean.

Everything you could ask for in a vacation rental

Very clean well appointed beachfront rental in an awesome location. It was great having access to beach chairs, towels , boogie boards, snorkelling gear and various yard toys; our kids loved playing in the water, sand and in the beautiful yard. We enjoyed watching the sunset every night and seeing turtles on the beach and whales breaching in the distance was an unexpected Bonus. Michael was a most gracious host who made us feel very much at home.

A true gem in kihei

We loved our stay at Al's place! Great beachfront location with essentially a private park and beach where turtles come to shore to sunbathe. The unit is nicely updated and larger than expected and the hosts are friendly, local, and involved. Location couldn't be better, within walking distance to shops, groceries,and food ... You could almost never have to get in the car. I will definitely be looking to return here on my next Maui trip!

Fantastic Location and Well Equipped

We loved our stay at Al's place. Our host, Mike, went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of, to the point of swapping out a twin bed for a queen so our second couple would be comfortable. The place has all the beach toys and tools we needed (chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, boogie boards... ) and is in a great central location on a fantastic stretch of beach. We took our morning coffee and strolled the beach and watched whales breach, waded into the gentle surf in the afternoon (mai tais in hand) and counted turtle heads, walked a few short blocks to the Kihei Cafe for amazing breakfasts, and drove everywhere else we wanted to go without having to wade through long stretches heavy traffic (location location location). The one negative thing about Al's Place you should know in advance: it's VERY hard to leave!!!
