"This romantic seaside cottage lived up to it's claims. We loved the view, the art, the garden, and the lanai! Its well stocked with beach stuff and day trip supplies as well as games, books and movies. It's perfectly situated between great beaches on the kona side and the volcano park on the hilo side."

"We enjoyed are stay at the Ohia Cottage. Pictures are accurate. There is no air conditioning which we knew when we rented the cottage. Fans through out the property. The cottage is surrounded by a lush tropical forest. With that being said, lots of spiders, insects, very vocal frogs and curious gecko’s! Not to forget the roosters and chickens. So, brings ear plugs to sleep. :)"

"My husband and I stayed at the 1 bedroom until for 16 glorious days. It was the perfect place on the island for a home base. We drove all over the island. The unit itself is well loved. A little shabby and worn, but very comfortable and clean. We loved the screened in lanai. We had coffee and breakfast out there every day. The sunsets were fantastic. It was also cool in the evenings, perfect for sleeping. George was great to work with, he left us fresh avocados. They were delicious! All in all...

"Place was perfect for my husband and I…owner was great to work with and provided everything we needed plus more….if you have a small family this may work for you but two couples this place might not work for you…only one bathroom which is downstairs and no dishwasher but we still loved the place. "It was a nice condo. Relaxing and spacious for family of 6. Everything was functional. The steep road to the condo was a surprise, but manageable. Short walk to pebble beach, with perfect sunset and a small trail along the shore. Only we didn't expect that much mosquitos in Feb. "

"We really enjoyed staying in this little cottage. The house is really functional, clean and has everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Having washer and dryer was very convenient. We used the boards, beach chairs and flippers they had in the cottage, which was great as well. We especially enjoyed the garden, where we had our meals. It is really green, quiet (except the birds singing :)) and private. Kids loved the chickens and cats running around. The hosts (Karina and Bill) are wonderful...

"I was not aware but each of the units at the hotel are individually owned. So some have updated furniture and some dont. Overall i gave it a 4 star due to the room conditions. "My stay was excellent. This hotel is exactly what I was looking for with a stay in Hawaii. Peaceful, quiet, and fairly convenient. This place isn't gonna be for everyone, if you are looking for thrills and to be treated like royalty or have a family this probably won't be the place for you. But for me this place was perfect because I don't need all that. The issues with this place are minor and don't warrant super negative criticism, but parking can be an issue, it's a very small parking lot. Luckily for me it wasn't a problem. For me my only suggestion is I do wish they would get air conditioning. I was aware of it coming in and they advertise as part of their charm. I didn't think much of it either since they are right on the ocean. But the weather in Kona can get a bit on the warmer side with humidity especially in the summer. So yes the fans help and there is ocean breeze, but it's not a cool breeze like you get on the mainland so I feel like they should have AC. Other than that this place is great and I will most likely stay here again because I loved everything else about it."
