Kona Spectacular Ocean Front 5BR, 4BA Pool,Spa,AC

Welcome to your dream Hawaiian getaway—where world-class surf, vibrant marine life, and breathtaking views converge right outside your door. Located on world famous Alii Drive just south of Kona Town, our amazing home sits directly oceanfront on beautiful Holualoa Bay. With 5 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, an expansive Lanai, 2 kitchens and 2 living areas, there is room for your next family vacation or group retreat. Set just feet from the water, you'll enjoy amazing views, a spacious yard, refreshing pool and a relaxing hot tub. Perched directly above the legendary Lymans surf break and just across the bay from iconic Banyans, this oceanfront retreat is a haven for wave riders and ocean lovers alike. When the waves settle, the waters out front become a snorkeler’s paradise, revealing colorful tropical fish, graceful sea turtles, and even seasonal whale sightings—all visible from the comfort of your lanai and backyard.

The heart of the home is an open-concept, traditional Hawaiian-style great room with soaring vaulted ceilings and a wall of sliding glass doors that open wide to a spacious waterfront lanai—blurring the line between indoor and outdoor living. The recently remodeled kitchen is fully equipped for preparing fresh island meals, while the ocean breeze and dual ceiling fans keep the upstairs living area well ventilated and comfortable. The huge upper Lanai has a double dining table with seating for 12, an outdoor day bed, and a padded loveseat and chairs for al fresco dining and lounging.

Each of the five bedrooms offers comfort and privacy, all with their own AC units. The primary upstairs suite features a king bed, lanai access, and a luxurious ensuite bathroom with a spa-like soaking tub and huge open shower. A second upstairs suite also has a king bed, panoramic ocean views, and a newly updated private bathroom. The third upstairs bedroom includes another king bed and stunning views of the coastline.

Downstairs, a separate living and dining area with a full kitchen opens directly to the oceanfront yard—perfect for large families or groups. The downstairs lounge includes a twin daybed with a trundle, and two additional bedrooms provide flexible sleeping options: a bunk room with a twin-over-full bed and daybed with trundle, and a fifth bedroom with two twin beds and sliding glass doors to the lanai.

Your private oceanfront oasis spans an impressive 160 feet of shoreline. Lounge in the sun by the pool or retreat to the shaded lower lanai surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. Relax in a hammock, test your skills on the putting green, enjoy a BBQ at the outdoor dining area, or soak in the 5-person hot tub perched right at the ocean’s edge. Whether you're sipping morning coffee and watching the waves or gathering for a sunset toast, every moment here is picture-perfect.

This extraordinary home offers an unmatched Hawaiian experience—blending adventure, relaxation, and the soothing rhythms of the Pacific in one unforgettable setting.

Other things to note:
Swimming Pool:
Some guests have commented that the pool is smaller than it appears in the pictures. It is 30’ long and 15’ across at the wide end and tapers to about 4’ wide at the waterfall. It is about 32-42 inches deep. It is not heated so can be a bit cool on the coldest days of the year. The hot tub is steps away if you need a warmer option. The majority of the time the water temperature is perfectly comfortable and a great way to cool off. The pool is professionally serviced between each reservation. During and after rare excessively rainy periods, organic material from the surrounding landscaping can wash into the pool causing it to get cloudy. It may take some time for the water to filter and become clear again. We unfortunately cannot guarantee the pool clarity during these events.

Parking:
The home sits between the beautiful Lyman’s Bay and Alii drive which is the main ocean front street in Kona. The garage 17-18’ deep and about 20 feet wide. It has 2 stalls large enough to accommodate most standard size vehicles (4 door jeeps, mid to full size cars, mini vans etc.) The driveway is about 16’ deep and 24’ wide and will accommodate a larger vehicle parked parallel to the. Alii is a busier road so traffic mirrors have been installed adjacent to and across from the driveway to aid in pulling out from the house. We recommend backing vehicles in to the garage and driveway for the easiest parking and departing experience.

Location & Nature:
Our property is immediately adjacent to Holualoa Bay, the famous Lymans surf break and Kamoa Point/ Kaluaokalani state park. Due to the tropical nature of Hawaii as well as the large areas of adjacent land preserves you may encounter occasional insects, geckos, various bird species, or maybe even a mongoose at the property during your stay. A professional pest service treats the exterior of the property every 2 weeks but on unusual occasions centipedes or native cockroaches may get by. Mosquitos are rare but in certain seasons flying insects may be attracted to the house lights at night. The adjacent ocean access is popular with both locals and tourist a like. When the waves are breaking surfers often traverse in front of the North corner of the property to access the waves out front.

Ocean Front Living & Maintenance:
This property is about as close the water as you can get without being on a boat. The spectacular setting does come with some maintenance challenges. In the warm salt air environment, outdoor furniture, grills, and AC units start to corrode within months of being replaced. Items are regularly refurbished and replaced, but as with other ocean front properties you may see some signs of accelerated wear around the property.

Exceptional Value:
We are excited to host you in this world class oceanfront location. We hope you have an amazing stay and appreciate just how special it is to stay in one of the only homes on the famous Holoualoa Bay. We believe we provide an incredible value, especially for larger groups to gather with our 5 bedrooms, multiple living areas, 2 kitchens, private pool and hot tub, 2 covered lanais, and a large private yard. And did we mention the views? While high-end resorts like the Four Seasons, Mauna Lana or Mauna Kea will likely offer you a more polished experience, a single room at one of those properties often costs as much as your stay in this entire home—perfect for larger groups looking for a stunning yet affordable getaway. Please keep this value in mind when booking and staying at our amazing home.

Air conditioning:
Each bedroom and the downstairs living room has a separate wall or window mounted AC unit. The main upstairs living area and adjacent Lanai are open air spaces with ceiling fans, but no AC. The sea breeze and vented ceiling keep the living area and lanai comfortable but if you are sensitive to heat and humidity you may find the space a bit warm at times.

Appliances:
The majority of the appliances have been upgraded with new units in the past few years. The two kitchens provide a back-up fridge, dishwasher, range and microwave. There is also a compact washer dryer upstairs and full-size units downstair. Given this redundancy, in the unlikely event a single appliance needs repair and can’t be immediately fixed during your stay we are unable to provide refunds.

History:
Holualoa Bay is one of Hawaii’s legendary royal centers. Local history and lore tells us that prior to Western contact, only the highest-ranking Hawaiian royalty gathered here for religious, educational, and residential purposes.
• Kamehameha the Great—Hawaii’s most revered king—learned to surf in Holualoa Bay in the 1770s.
• After rising to power, he stored his war god, Kūkaʻilimoku, at Kamoa Point, part of the Government-preserved lands adjacent to the property.
• The area’s ancient Hawaiian village was called Kaluaokalani, meaning “Heaven on Earth.”
Today, this spectacular oceanfront home sits in a historic and highly desirable location, offering unparalleled views of the turquoise bay, swaying coconut groves, world-class surf, and breathtaking Kona sunsets.

We can’t wait to host you— and have you experience the magic of Kona from your own private oceanfront paradise!

Outstanding location, right on the water, with great views and a real feeling of being at a private resort. Wonderful features and lay out. Property managers were very responsive and solved a small problem immediately.

We had a great stay here. Kids had tons of fun downstairs playing games and in the pool when we weren’t out exploring, and adults enjoyed the view from the upper deck and relaxed. Plenty of room for our extended family of 11 people (6 adults and 5 teenagers). Beds are a little

We had 15 family members at this home. The location is amazing- the kids surfed a break right in front of the house. We had a lovely time. The pool needed some help- it was pretty green, but we grabbed some chlorine tabs at Costco and got it nice and clear and usable. Great vacation

The house had plenty of room to accommodate our party of 15 adults. The views off the back lanais are indescribable. Dolphins were a giving us some morning entertainment on one of our mornings there. We drove a little way down to Hapuna Beach and saw sea turtles. Magic Sands Beach was just a mile down the road and a great little spot. It was never crowded when we went or drove by on our way to our next adventure. This stay has actually gotten my family and me Looking into moving there. The hosts were very helpful, extremely quick with responses to any of my questions. I highly recommend this place for a gorgeous and peaceful getaway.

We booked this property for our extended family adventures (4 teenagers, 4 adults and 2 grandparents) in Hawaii. It was the perfect property - a giant deck that has you so close to the ocean and sunsets, lots of comfy beds and bedrooms, well-stocked kitchen, and easy access to beaches, shopping and airport. Some of the house has been updated and some is dated and pool could use a refresh as well but overall a great vacation property.

We were so pleased with this house for our rare family gathering with our 4 grown kids small grandkids. Perfect porch with Ocean views, plenty of space and home activity as well as perfect location to Island activity. Only drawback was the parking of 3 cars was difficult but manageable.

The location is good. The road is extremely busy and you will need to have someone stop traffic to get on the road. The carpet on the stairs is disgustingly filthy..it should be replaced! We prohibited our toddlers from using the stairs because we didn’t want them touching the carpet. The sliding patio door does not work properly and the screen did not work on one side.I understand this is a rental property, but if you are going to advertise a ping pong table, it should be in working order. The paddles were non functional and the one ping pong ball was flat. We had to move one of the couches to get an object, and it clearly hadn’t been moved in quite a while. The bedrooms and bathrooms were fine.Bottom line, this was an extremely expensive rental before they add all the fees and taxes. We expected more.

We had such a great time at this house! Check-in was easy and we arrived to the most gorgeous ocean view we have ever seen. Both kids and adults enjoyed everything the house had to offer including pool, hot tub, corn hole, ping pong, even a mini putting green, and of course the views from every room in the house. We'll be back!

Wow, the view! The kitchen is super for large family gathering! Beds on second floor and lanai were better than the lower level. More screens in lower level window would improve ventilation. Great place to relax! We will do it again!

Fantastic location on the ocean. Lots of surfers, parasailers, divers, swimmers, and fisherpeople to observe. Swimming is possible when the waves are diminished. Sunsets can be spectacular. The house backs up to busy Alii drive and caution when exiting by car is strongly advised.

What an unbelievable ocean front location! Spacious house was perfect for our multigenerational trip. Everything was clean and perfect for our arrival. Nothing beats the waves breaking right on the rocks in front of you and soaking in those sunsets while sitting in the hot tub or on the lanai. The kitchens are remodeled with nice stainless appliances and we learned the bathrooms were freshly remodeled just the week before our stay! Checkin and communication with host was easy. Also the value of this place versus renting many hotel rooms for our family just can’t be beat. We plan to stay here again for the next family reunion.

We had a family of 6 - ranging from 3-63. Plenty of space for everyone. The areas in the house that had been updated, were lovely. The areas that have not been updated, are - just that dated. That's fine as long as the 'dated' things are in working order. The 'hidden' driveway on such a busy street made for scary exits. The backyard and pool was wonderful - but there's a lot of road noise. The best parts were the upstairs lanai, the waves crashing on the rocks, the ocean and surfer activity and the birds.

Cannot beat the value for staying on the water with a large group - daily sunsets, mornings watching for surfers and fish, close to downtown Kona. We appreciated the rehabbed bathrooms and kitchens - helpful to have the downstairs kitchen as you leave for the day. Bedrooms each have wall unit A/C which worked well for us all. Common area upstairs does not have A/C and depending on the direction of the breeze, can get quite warm and stuffy in the evenings, but overall was manageable. Pool was nice and overall stocking of kitchens and bathrooms was good for the week. We solved the tricky driveway by having one adult out of the car directing us. Took half a star off because I think the minor issues are easily fixable. The main door to the house does not seal well and I witnessed bugs coming in a few times. I think that wall also is not sealed properly as the bugs we did see appeared to come in through the lower drawers and cabinets. Some of the outdoor furniture shows wear and tear but you are on the ocean, it’s getting sea spray so that is to be expected. I’d also note that the two twin bed bedrooms in the basement are good - we ended up not using one for kids under 6 as it had a door directly to ocean and pool. But the other kids bedroom could sleep 4 and did not have a door outside so worked great. Overall beds were comfortable. 3 king bedrooms with dedicated full baths upstairs. Overall we’d stay again for the value of a multi family property on the water.

The views from this home were unbelievable! We fished right off the Point and saw sea turtles, colorful fish, parrots etc right outside our vrbo. There were surfers every morning. The fresh water pool with waterfall and the outdoor hammocks, ping pong and water toys were nice. With 11 people it was also nice having 2 kitchens and 2 washer/dryers. We loved the outside bed and lenai for meals. The bedrooms upstairs were nice excluding 1 bed which was uncomfortable. Beds downstairs in the triple and the living room were awful. The 2 singles in the back room were pretty good. The hottub was unusable for 3 nights due to an ongoing maintenence issue. Management was responsive and referenced money back after check out, but really, the use of the hottub was what we wanted. Also for spending close to $15,000 for the week, I got a bad vibe that it came with very little TP. dishwasher tabs, garbage bags and paper towel. Overall it was a good experience on our trip of a lifetime. Mahalo!

We loved this place. The front row ocean view and amazing sunsets were incredible. The house was clean with room for everyone and the yard spacious. The pool was the perfect place to cool off and the hot tub was a welcome spot to relax each evening. This was such a great value for our large group!

We rented this house for my Mom’s 60th birthday and flew the family in - 6 adults and 2 children. The location and views from the house are absolutely stunning - albeit pulling out and into the driveway can be tricky with a big car (think Suburban or Tahoe). The house itself was relatively clean - but it’s obvious that the property is in need of a serious makeover and some TLC. The pictures show an updated kitchen - two in fact but that’s where the updates end. The rest of the house is straight out of the 80s with full mirrored walls in tow. The pool is smaller than pictured and if you are staying for an extended period of time will be a nice green by the time you leave. The hot tub kept losing water - but honestly it was probably the nicest thing about the outside patio (other than the view). The master bathroom is definitely older - the air conditioning is not central, you have wall units in each bedroom, which work, but you are warned not to turn them too low. There’s no air conditioner in areas like the bathroom or main living area which get quite hot during the day (especially if you are venturing out). The main living floor is upstairs and the outdoor table on the lanai is great for family meals. It’s probably a whole 10 degrees cooler out there than inside. The doors and screens to the rest of the house however have holes in them that let the critters through - so if you don’t like flies, cockroaches, geckos etc you’ll probably want to keep them closed. In summary, for a first trip to Hawaii, we had a great time. I personally wouldn’t stay again until the home is updated, but if all you care about is views, then this is the place for you. The home is large, can be comfortable, and is great for family gatherings - but it’s obvious that the location is taking a toll on the maintenance and much much needed refurb on the property.
