"Motels always have ratings that are artificially high compared to Hotels. An 8 rating for a motel would be 6-7 for a hotel. This is true for the Appalachian. Clean and comfortable but scantily furnished. Maintenance issues were obviously taken care of by an unskilled person and appear half-assed. The owner speaks little English and is hard to understand. He can be impatient and rude."

"This was an unexpected trip but they came thru. Price was great. They called me to remind me of my check in and even upgraded me from a queen to king when they saw I had my kid with me. Very kind. It was only for one night, but if im ever back in the area I would definitely stay here again!"

"Room was as expected. Manager/owner was very friendly. Only issue was that manager said they are not working with Hotels.com anymore fir 8 months. My reservation should have been canceled but was not. Luckily he had a room given event near by. But others from event with Hotels.com reservations were turned away. "
