A Way Down Yonder

You will feel like you're living the country song at A Way Down Yonder right on the Chattahoochee River! Our RIVERFRONT townhome boasts the best of the best! Three master king bedrooms with their own ensuite bathrooms! Your kitchen is FULLY stocked with all your cooking needs with nice stainless appliances and a GAS GRILL on the main floor deck for grilling out your favorite meals! The main floor has a nice large living room for everyone to enjoy watching TV and relaxing as well as a 6 seat dining table with eating at the bar in the kitchen. Also, enjoy the outdoor dining area with views and sounds of the Chattahoochee River. Upstairs has two large king bedrooms with ROKU TV and the Master bedroom has a balcony overlooking the river and a beautiful jetted tub in the master bathroom to relax after a long day's hike! Downstairs has your third king bedroom and full bath that walk right out the hot tub at the river level! An 8ft Slate Pool Table in the basement rounds off a fun evening.

Relax by the seasonal gas fireplace in the upstairs living room or on those hot summer days go fishing right from your back yard! Walk to downtown where there are shops, tubing, Helen Water Park, and restaurants. If golf is what you are here for, Innsbruck Golf Course is right down the road, fine dining at Valhalla as well as a spa for a massage! Come enjoy the beautiful mountain air and the town of Helen and all the outdoor activities we have to offer! Walking Distance to the annual Helen to Atlantic Hot Air Balloon Race and a great spot to relax on the Chatahoochee River!

This townhouse was perfect for our long weekend getaway. We wanted to stay close to downtown Helen and Oktoberfest but not directly in town. Perfect location if that’s what you desire, about a 20 minute walk to the edge of town. The house was clean and perfect size for 6 people (3.couples).

We really enjoyed our stay in the townhouse! It was overall clean, location and parking was great. Would have appreciated more hand towels in the bathrooms and more kitchen towels. The grill wasn’t clean enough for us to use. The views, balconies, and location was amazing, would stay again

The condo was perfect for our needs. It was wonderful having three separate bedrooms with king beds and attached bathrooms. The location was great for downtown Helen. It was so relaxing sitting on the deck overlooking the flowing water.

Blue Creek Cabins, A way Down Yonder, was a great place to stay. Everything we needed was provided. Great views of the river and enjoyed sitting on the patio. It was close to all eating places and activities. We walked to alot of the places. It was very clean and big for our whole family. The host were very friendly and helpful when we had any questions. We will definitely be back to stay. Thanks for a fantastic trip.

Way down yonder exceeded our expectations. It was clean, beautifully decorated and all of the furniture was extremely comfortable. The location was great as it was close enough to everything in town but far enough away to feel private. This is our second year staying at A Way Down Yonder. It’s cozy and the right amount of space for 3 couples. It’s conveniently close to downtown Helen. We walked into town everyday, and the hot tub is the perfect spot to relax after a day out and about. We come back every year to celebrate our Oktoberfest tradition and look forward to our stay every time!

We absolutely loved the view and hot tub! The home was spacious and cozy. We couldn’t access the dumpster for trash disposal but we were able to get in contact with a representative immediately to help with that concern. I love that there was a TV in every room!!

We had a great time at this townhouse! Very clean, tons of space, comfortable beds. You can’t beat the close proximity to Helen. Loved that you didn’t have to drive up super steep hills just to get to it. We had a minor maintenance issue while we were there and the office was very responsive and sent someone out to fix it ASAP. The views of the river were amazing and so was the hot tub. We would absolutely come back!

Great time. 6 adults - had our own rooms and bathrooms with another half bath on the main floor. A teeny disappointed that not all bedrooms had a balcony overlooking the river but there were 3 and we ended up on the one on the main floor most of the time. The large dining table was great for cards and projects and dining!!

This was the perfect little get away for our family over spring break. The 3 bedrooms were super spacious and the townhome was super clean (a must for us!). The kitchen was very well stocked and had everything you would need in it to eat in. The back decks are so cozy with the firepit and the hot tub, and we loved listening to the river flowing while enjoying our coffee or evening drinks. The entire complex was super quiet while we were there. The town is so cute as well - highly recommend the Outpost for mining and the Nacoochee Adventures for Zip Lining and the Challenge Course. Anna Ruby Falls is a must visit for sure.

The condo was a great place to stay while visiting Helen and the surrounding area. We enjoyed the balcony overlooking the river and the resident groundhog. The gameroom with a pool table was a welcome addition. Our only issue was the single roll of paper towels and the single roll of tp for each bathroom. That might be OK for a 1 or 2 night stay, but not for a 4 night stay by 4 adults. Those supplies were also cheap, one ply tp and equally listless paper towels. The owner should reconsider this policy and the quality of the supplies being provided.

This property is a 3-level townhouse about ¾ - 1 mile to town center. It is not ideal for families with toddlers as you have 2 sets of stairs and all 3 levels have exit doors on to balconies. The layout is more designed for adult couples or families with teens. The townhouse itself is nicely furnished but needs some repairs. (Which I reported to the property manager) Hopefully they take care of the issues. The positive side is Helen is a perfect location as a home base for daily trips out to explore other areas after you have had your fill of the quaint little village.

We enjoyed our stay at A Way Down Yonder. I feel it needs to be shared that if stairs are hard, this is not the place for you. The condo is three levels and the stairs are needed for various movements about the cabin. The pool table was a huge hit with the kids and provided great entertainment. I don't feel we were in "walking distance" unless you really like to walk. We had to drive and pay to park when going in town but did find a location for parking that allowed for all same-day returns (behind Cowboys and Angels). The hot tub was also not private on open to anyone that potentially walked up. I'm sure this isn't an issue as it was fairly quiet where we were, but this struck me as odd as I don't see how they keep random folks (especially during slow season) from just walking up and taking a dip. All that said, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again if given the opportunity. Helen was a pleasant place to visit. We were there during September so many businesses closed Monday to Wed. Hiking to Anna Ruby Falls was the best and a big recommend!
