Host left me stranded across the country
At the beginning of July the host and I messaged about my stay for the beginning of October. Was supposed to get instructions for entry to the property the day of check in. Never received any communication from the host. I messaged while at the airport waiting to get on my flight to head there. As I was boarding my plane, I get a message saying the property is not available and I was not able to stay there for the days I had paid for a few months prior. After going back and forth with the host, I never got so much as a “sorry,” just that it wasn’t her fault and Vrbo was to blame. She told me to just cancel my reservation, even though it clearly states I would not get any refund if I cancel so I would have been out hundreds of dollars. Vrbo on the other hand was excellent with handling the situation. I received a 100% refund, along with accommodations since I was stranded.
