"We loved the location of Susan’s cottage. She was so easy and nice to communicate with prior to arrival. We loved being able to walk to the small town one way, and down to the point the other way. The cottage was immaculate. Our favorite part was being able to walk out the back door and after about five minutes be at the beach of Lake Superior. A beautiful and wild lake. The beach was a perfect mix of sand and rocks. Great place to launch our kayak. We also loved being close to Pictured Rocks. I highly recommend going to Sable Falls and following the trail to the lake. The only thing to keep in mind is that the town has only the bare minimum of groceries. It was hard for us to find vegetables. The locals told us the nearest place for this was in Newberry or Manistique. Otherwise, we had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the kids loved the recliners, and the fire pit just behind the house was a perfect way to end our nights. Overall a great, comfortable house. "This hotel is run how a hotel should be. All staff I encountered are attentive and kind. The whole place is spotless, except for dated carpet in stairwell and rooms. Other than that, perfect . Soft towels, clean room, good breakfast with healthy options (plain oatmeal, hard boiled eggs) as well as usual offerings."
