Motels in French Polynesia

"They have a “duplex” where there is a second story with a king/2twins in the “upstairs” level so if you need a little separation, this is a great option. However, note that there is only one bathroom so whoever is sleeping upstairs needs to go downstairs to use the bathroom and that might not work for those who are older or have mobility issues since the stairs are quite steep. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The location is GREAT with a small shopping center a free minutes away by foot, including a small grocery store. The infinity pool was lovely. There is a fitness center but it’s just a couple of treadmills and ellipticals. The AC in our room was POWERFUL so don’t worry about the heat and humidity in Moorea; you will find reprieve in your room. The only negative was that the food at the bar restaurant sucked. Really, really bad. For instance, my meal came with “wok cooked fresh vegetables” but they were clearly from a bag of mixed frozen veggies heated up in the microwave - they were soggy, bland and overall gross so stay there, but I don’t recommend eating there. Ditto for the Hilton’s Rotui restaurant. Same gross reheated frozen vegetables and French fries. Eat at Ccok hotel’s restaurant or the Sofitel. "

"This is an exceptional boutique hotel, located right across from the Papeete ferry port. Plenty of interesting sighs to see from here (including an excursion to Pointe Venus or a city tour). Lots of cool restos and shopping before you head out into the islands. Nils Winter, the Concierge, is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. You will definitely enjoy your time in spectacular French Polynesia with your home base at the Kon Tiki! Highly recommended! "

We loved our overwater bungalow but every bungalow on the property is perfect with access to a gorgeous white sand beach, baby blue water and a nice pool. It is easy to get over to the main island of Bora Bora if you like for other activities too. Throughout our stay we felt relaxed and pampered. "

The concierge and registration helped us in adding a day to our stay, scheduling us to get tatooes on the island and transportationn, and changing our flight. The over the water bungalow was amazing. This tourist destination is on the high end of cost, but well worth it! We really enjoyed our stay!!"
