Baleal is a small island located 3 kilometres north of Peniche, in the western region of Portugal, separated from the mainland by a tombolo. At the extremity of the island one can find the inaccessible ilhota das Pombas and the ilhéu de Fora. Baleal has a past related to whaling.

"The perfect location to relax while visiting many sites in the area. Quinta Mota II was clean, comfortable, quiet, had everything we needed, and the backyard and salt pool was incredible. From this location it is a short drive to the beach and many sites, we visited Obidos, Alcobaca, Batalha, and several beaches. And then returned for swim and a peaceful quiet nights sleep. Thank you Joao!!"

"It was a lovely, clean house with everything one could need. The owner was always quick to respond to any questions I had. Outside of the city, so you will definitely need a car. But Caldas da Rainha and Óbidos are a conveniently nearby. It also has a spacious, well fenced yard that kept my escape artist dog safe. I highly recommend it."

"The villa is exactly as shown in pictures: great atmosphere, it feels like a real familyhome! Everything you need is there: from a full kitchen to a full linencloset! Even things like washingpowder were provided. We (family of 6) loved the pool and eating together in the lovely backyard: either grilling on the outside kitchen or cooking in the very well equiped inside kitchen.
