"Easily the worst overnight stay I have encountered anywhere in my travels. We had no working water heater the first 24 hours so none of us could shower. The floors were sticky. We killed two sizeable spiders in the unit. The whole place smelled like chemicals but I couldn’t quite place what they were. "We had a terrific couple of days in this beautiful property!!! Was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and every need catered for. James was super helpful in all things - including letting me to use his bike (I was without a car) and giving me a lift to Ennis when I wanted to visit Doolin and the cliffs. Holy Island with its ancient remains of a monastery is a must see - the place is pretty much sacred and it feels that way. You can get a boat ride to and from the island from Mountshannon. There is a nice pub in the village with friendly hosts...
