"Wow what an amazing experience we had at East twin cottage carmichael, the property is a little dated but very clean and in an amazing location. We had deer field for our back garden and we even witnessed a deer give birth just meters away from us on quite morning! They people who run the business are so friendly and helpful. We had plenty of room for our group of five. With a well fitted out kitchen, a nice supply of board games, and a cozy fire in the wood stove, everyone enjoyed themselves. "The property was filthy. We reported the issues whilst we were there, and were advised to put it onto a feedback form when we left. We did this and have had no acknowledgement whatsoever. "Looks exactly like in the pictures don't expect modern furniture. old-school tv with satellite channels and working internet. I like the access road to the lodge covered in leaves - magic. I have stayed for 7 days, overall cleanliness was ok ( don't look under the beds). Warm rooms as long as you switch heating. beautiful views, quiet place. Bring your own water to drink, I wouldn't drink tap water. Enjoy your stay."

"We loved everything about our stay at Townhead from the glorious views to the cozy and thoughtfully planned house. Communication with the manager and the housekeeping staff before and during the stay was prompt and kind. The welcome drinks and food meant we didn’t have to run into Peebles when we first arrived. We unpacked and would have happily stayed much (much!) longer than a week. It’s a wonderful area to walk and explore but really, you’ll want to stay home and read or write or draw....

"We were a group aged nine to eighty. There was a lot on offer to cater for us all. There were nine of us and the place was big enough for us to spread out and enjoy varying activities. A bus stop outside going into Edinburgh was a bonus. Would highly recommend it. Does Scotland proud!"
