Take it easy at this tranquil getaway and animal sanctuary on lush acreage. Wake up to singing birds and a stunning view at this picturesque self-contained bungalow on our property. We are only a 10 minute drive to the closest beach, Coffs Harbour with it's cafes and restaurants + airport. We are ideally situated just off the highway as a stop halfway between Sydney and Brisbane or as a base to go bush-walking, beach exploring, and 4-wheel-driving in the surrounding area.
The space
A stay with us is almost like a farm stay, but with added comfort of a fully equipped bungalow and easy access. We are next to the train line and have a few quick trains coming through, but it is mainly peaceful and quiet around here. Be awoken by kookaburras or our rooster Elvis singing you the jailhouse rock from the flock's nighttime enclosure. During the day, our chooks are free-range and will cruise past the bungalow to say hello. Like most of our animals, they are rescues and considered part of the family. We also proud ourselves to count celebrities and royalty amongst us like our inseparable silkie chicken couple and ultimate love birds Elvis and Priscilla. Or our very affectionate goats Prince Hans from the Southern Highlands and Sir Anton, who are kept in check by goat matriarch Queen Star. We also have three alpacas and are always happy to introduce you to the lot and get you to hand feed our goofball alpaca Blue, the chooks, and the goats upon previous agreement. Furthermore, you are welcome to fish for mullet in Pine Creek, which borders our property or have a wander to inspect our veggie gardens and try to find our native bee hive. There's always something to entertain you here while you relax, whether it'll be Hans and Anton playfully head butting or Elvis just doting on his favourite hen Priscilla by trying to find treats for her or announcing her next egg to the world. If you want to totally relax and time allows it, we can also organise a remedial massage in your bungalow by me, a fully qualified remedial massage therapist with 15 years experience. Whether you explore the surrounding area, or stay in, and do nothing - Matt and I will do our best to make your stay as memorable and pleasant possible. Please note that for any booking less than three people there will only be the queen bed made up. If you need the sofa made into a bed with a two people occupancy, please request in advance.
Guest access
You are welcome to roam the property except the main house or the fenced in animal-paddocks. Feel free to go down to the creek and explore the veggie gardens, but be mindful that the train line is not fenced off, so children must be supervised at all times.
Other things to note
We are using the railway corridor as our driveway. While a 4-WD is not needed it is not a sealed road. Please supervise children at all times as creek and railway line are not fenced off. Our animals are very used to having the space to themselves so please be aware that you might have a curious cat or chicken trying to get in the bungalow and definitely get into your car if any way possible. Our 60 kg dog Tilly might also come in search of a pat but we'll do our best to keep her at bay and restrain her (harmless) barking.
