"Enjoyed the weekend at Wauchope Cottage. Perfect location to explore the coast and Galloway forest area of SW Scotland. House is super clean and much more room than we expected. The grounds are gorgeous and we loved walking around. It would be nice if there was an opportunity to visit the castle to see the inside. This is a fairly remote property, so be prepared to drive to anything you need. But so quiet and peaceful."

"Beautiful location with lovely, comfortable accomodation. The night staff were very friendly, accomodation and helpful on our arrival. We felt very welcome. However the day time reception staff were quite abrupt and rude not only to us but we watched a few other guests get 'told off' for petty things. Was rather unfortunate to witness. It spoilt the mood immediately. The lounge area was so relaxing with gorgeous views. The pool area was nice and clean but the floors are quite smooth and slippy!"

"Very pleased with the size of the rooms . The lounge had enough seating for all of our party (11) and the large dining table was excellent. The bedrooms were roomy, including a couch as well as beds. The only downside was the 3 bathrooms were some distance away. A toilet at either end would have been more practical. The kitchen was rather small but well equipped."

"The bedrooms were a generous size. With a large sitting room, spacious kitchen/diner, a separate dining room, and a second smaller sitting room with piano, there are plenty of options for getting together with your house guests. We were lucky with the weather, and ate breakfast on the patio and a barbecue in the garden. A memorable stay."

"We had a most amazing week at the mid lodge. easy booking and communicating to arrange a cot and high chair for the baby. Very spacious, comfortable cottage! beautiful kitchen, Nice size fridge/freezer, excellent setup with beds and 3 en-suite toilets [2 with shower]. nice size dining table to seat all of us comfortably! "We had the most needed time out at this cozy, clean cottage. We were left to wander at leisure or sit in the garden near the waterfall. Margaret came to our rescue with a drop of milk when we arrived. She was very kind about my resent loss of my Mother and my need to get away from everything. We would definetly go back."

"I came with my family from Switzerland to go to a wedding at Turnberry. The cottage was ideal situation for that and for exploring the surrounding area. Clean, comfortable, warm and well equipped accommodation. Would highly recommend."

"The relatively remote location was good, with deer and hares visiting in the evenings. Somewhat disappointed that there were not more local walks to be made from the property. Altogether a lovely time at this well-equipped dwelling despite mixed weather."

"The house was an ideal setting to see in the new year. The area has lots of interesting walks and cycling routes. The hosts provided plenty communication ahead of the booking and accomodated for our youngest guest (1 year old). The property could benefit from a few more kitchen essentials (bin bags, dish clothes etc), but this a wasn't major issue. All in all, a really nice stay."
