Last Night in Bucharest
The Golden Tulip Times Hotel has seen better days. The room was very plain and the carpet and walls were very stained and dirty. Two couples that were with us complained that their room had a sewer smell. Luckily, we were only there for one night.

Great stay!
Staff are welcoming, and helpful. However small details, could be improved, eg. at breakfast they run out of butter. Working air conditioning in all the rooms.

Decent Location
Walked in and immediately smelled of heavy cigarette smoke. Room was smoke free, clean and refrigerator stocked. Breakfast was great, had plenty to choose from. I gave a 3-4 rating because I had an early flight with my infant and they didn't set up the airport shuttle service they offered. Had to call a taxi and ended up being way cheaper.

Very good experience
I stayed at Golden Tulip Times for three nights. The hotel was very convenient for the purpose of my visit in Bucharest. The location is a bit far from the center, but still in a good area,very close to the subway station and many other amenities. The internet wasn't that great however I totally enjoyed the hotel. It was very clean, the staff was professional and took great care of me as a guest. Also the breakfast was amazing. I would totally recommend this hotel.

Fine, but called a bad taxi triver for me
The hotel stay was quite nice for the price. It is a little out of the way but near a metro stop. The in-house restaurant is very good and surprisingly cheap. However, when I asked the concierge to call me a taxi to take me to the airport when I left, the taxi driver she called drove me a block then stopped and refused to take me to the airport unless I paid 50 extra Lei. I would have thought that the hotel would call a trustworthy taxi service, but apparently not. It left me with quite a bad impression.

Close proximity to the National Arena
Decent hotel chosen for its proximity to the National Arena, which is about a 10 minute walk away. The old town is about a 40 minute walk, or 14 Lei in a taxi. The room was large and comfortable, although a little warm, however, the air con soon sorted that. Good breakfast and very pleasant staff.

Adequate for 3 star hotel
The Golden Tulip Times was a nice looking hotel and fairly convenient to local attractions. The room was adequate for a short stay (three to four days) any longer and you may want more comfort and amenities. I was surprised that my breakfast was not included even though when I booked it stated it was. Upon arrival I was greeted with very nice staff but informed my reservation did not include breakfast to my surprise. I booked a non-smoking room which was clean and smoke free but you could tell that other patrons did indeed smoke in the room. The smell of cigarette smoke was very present throughout the hotel especially in the lobby and common areas - yes even on the non-smoking floors. The room came with standard amenities for the bathroom but nothing else in the room - no complimentary tea or coffee, no coffee or hot water maker and no complimentary bottled water. These are pretty standard for hotels that claim to be 4 stars of higher. I upgraded three levels believing that I would get more but realized that the room may be larger but that is all. The hotel did not live up to its online descriptions but I will say that the bellhops were outstanding and very friendly, the front desk personnel were polite and informative; they were overall attentive and cordial.

Nice, Consistent Product
The room was large and comfortable. There is a little 2" (5 cm) raised floor around the desk that is a recipe for twisted ankles. Breakfast was not bad. Service was sketchy but there was one waiter who was on top of things. French bread/croissants were not fresh but the local sliced loaves were delicious.

Wonderful Hotel
This hotel is situated nicely in District 3 of Bucharest, a short cab ride away from the OTP airport. The staff here was very welcoming and helpful in getting us to our room. They were also quick to fix anything that went wrong and accommodated us when we checked in early and out late. The rooms are large and comfortable with soft linens and a nice mattress. A large HD TV sitting across from the bed had more channels than we needed and felt like watching something at home. The bathroom was large with a clean tile floor and large mirrors. I only had breakfast at the hotel and did not try any of the room service. The breakfast was good even if the menu was somewhat smaller. Everything in this hotel felt clean which makes for a wonderful stay. I will definitely stay there again in the future.
