Clone House
4.0 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (133)
"This is a restored house out in the country, a very peaceful setting with a beautiful garden. The room was clean and bed comfortable. It is owned by a man from California who didn't introduce himself until the morning we were leaving. His wife showed us to our room with very minimal introduction. There was really no place to open a suitcase or store anything outside the suitcase in terms of shelves. There was a closet but it only had 2 or 3 hangers and again no place to put our things. So we...

"What a charming bed and breakfast! First the friendly staff makes you feel very welcomed to start. Then the clean comfortable spacious room and the lovely bed makes you feel home. And they immediately refresh you with some tea and cake soon after your arrival. The breakfast was lovely, and the swing on the front, the trail behind the house... All wonderful! I also ordered the picnic for the hike, and it had enough to feed four for just the two of us. I would definitely recommend."

"Extremely difficult to find. The address was very vague. We rang them 4 times to ask for something around or more detail so we could put in our GPS. Not helpful. At 9pm after looking for hours we were left a message telling us to go elsewhere as the owner was going to bed! Then the next day she left a message demanding payment as she supposedly sat up until 11pm!!! The address given was Ballykipogue Kilbride. She told us there are 6 Kilbrides in Ireland - but it is easy to find? ...

Brittas Bay. Detached house with large deck and garden sleeps six
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (10)
"A comfortable property with some nice touches from the host - like a stock of games and tennis rackets and balls so that we could make use of the tennis courts on the site. Lovely, lifeguarded sandy beach ten minutes walk away and a short drive (15 min) to both Arklow and Wicklow. Lots of great attractions within 30-40 min drive too."

"The location of the property is perfect and it’s a great size with some good facilities. We just found a few cleaning standards were below what we expected and there’s a number of general repairs needed to improve the house. For example we had to get someone out to repair the upstairs toilet as it was loose and the towel rail in the ensuite was hanging off the wall. However, it didn’t ruin our stay and we hope the feedback helps the owners make things perfect for future guests"
