I just stayed at Mare Nostrum in October 2019. The very helpful host, Giuseppe, was welcoming and provided lots of snacks and coffee! It is in a great location to use as a base to walk thru the old town of Brindisi, with a bakery and shops nearby, too. The room was comfortable, quiet, and the coffee was great, too, in the morning. :) I highly recommend staying here - if you rent a car, park 2 blocks down the hill by the water in the street parking, and enjoy the walks thru town.

Wonderful hosts, very friendly and thoughtful.
A bit tricky to find if you are driving a car, mainly due to limited parking spots. It was a bust festival time when we arrived. Hosts are fabulous, would definitely stay here again if I ever visit Brindisi. An excellent start to our special holiday.

Guiseppe & Fabrizio (who met me on arrival) were very friendly & keen to ensure I had a good stay. My apartment was relatively spacious, the bathroom was clean/modern enough, and the WiFi worked. The self-service ‘breakfast’ in a shared kitchen consisted of yogurts & fruit juices (& a pot of home-made jam which I couldn’t open) in the fridge, and a cupboard full of various biscuits, dried toast, etc.) There were coffee making facilities (but no kettle) and a stove with a selection of pans & utensils. (Note: although listed in the amenities there was little “free bottled water” - i.e. only 1 small bottle provided between 2 apartments for the 3 days I stayed. There was also no TV in my apartment (but I’m not sure I would have used one out of respect for the person in the adjoining apartment, as the flimsy connecting door although locked was not at all sound-proof, so it did feel like you were sharing a house with a stranger)). There was also noise from neighbouring building work which started very early. Despite having listed these downsides, I do still want to stress that Guiseppe tries hard to make it feel like a home from home (communicating with me–mostly by WhatsApp-in good English), and that Mare Nostrum is perfectly located to stroll around the old town. The free use of a bicycle (which I was gratefully able to use beyond check-out time) also means you can easily visit surrounding countryside/beaches (NB my bike had no gears & a noisy chain so was not good on inclines!)

The hotel was wonderful! Very clean, very comfortable and felt like a home away from home. The manager was very nice and told me all about what to visit in the area and where to eat. Hotel is very centrally located and an easy walk to all sites

A great place!
I had the most marvelous welcome from the owner Giuseppe, who explained the historical and gastronomic highlights with passion. It was a very nice and comfy place, a great bed and quiet! I have to say only one thing negative about my stay and that was certainly not the fault of the B&B, the other two couples that arrived later were very loud when they returned from eating and in the morning too whern one of them smoked cigars !

poco da dire, non mi e piaciuto nulla, non c'era il parcheggio ho dovuto posteggiare l'auto distante dalla struttura, appena si entra nel portone si sente un brutto odore le stanze sono comunicanti, sono separate da una porta che si sente anche il respiro degli altri occupanti.

apt spacieux avec toutes les commodites en centre
avons logé dans un grand appartement refait a neuf avec grand salon et une grande chambre et plutot bien equipé. le petit dej est en libre service ds la cuisine, plutot standard. sdb un peu petite au vue de la surface totale de cet apt.un ventilateur a disposition pour la nuit.bonne situation, en plein centre ville et tres proche de l aeroport.on regrette un peu le manque d ouverture ds la chambre. mais clairement ravi dans l ensemble.
