"Our stop at Maquenque was one of our favorites. We didn’t realize we’d have to take a boat across the river (with a bunch of luggage and baby stroller in the rain) to get to the lodging, but staff was quick to help do all the heavy lifting and it was not a biggie. We enjoyed the boat tour and the dining. The included breakfast was great. Unfortunately, the lodges don’t have a/c. The amazing nature we were able to see made up for it! "

"This place is an underappreciated gem. It lies on the banks of the Rio San Carlos with 24 individual cabins. The rooms are very spacious and nicely appointed. While the pictures show the cabins overlooking the river only around four or five of them actually do that. I spent three nights here in August, 2018.
