Springtime & Watersports in Aska! The Rustic Retreat-3 private acres!

About this space
In the middle of the Aska Adventure Area-mountaineers’ delight! Relax on our private 3 acre homestead-no one in sight. Drive through our gates & up the long, winding driveway & you feel yourself begin to unwind. Enjoy our unique, all-log cabin with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths plus the separate bunk/game house. This sleeps 2 more & functions as a second living room where everyone can gather & play. You are 13 scenic miles from downtown Blue Ridge or Ellijay-just off the beaten path!
The space
The main cabin has a luxurious 2nd floor master King suite with private en-suite including double vanity, jacuzzi soaking tub & separate shower.
In addition to the King bed there is a ROKU Smart TV and an easy chair plus a huge walk in closet.
Downstairs there are two more Queen bedrooms: “The Deer” & “The Bear”. Each bedroom has a queen bed, TV, full closet, dresser, & end tables. These bedrooms share a large bathroom with double vanity, tub shower & washer/dryer. “The Deer” bedroom also has an electric leather recliner-so comfy!
The main living/dining area is styled around the river rock gas fireplace with live edge mantle. On the mantle is an original oil painting by a local Blue Ridge artist. Amish-made live edge hickory furniture fills the space with comfort, form & function. The kitchen is open to the living room so everyone, including the cook can interact & enjoy! Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need to create a lovely meal at home. Appliances are all stainless & stove/oven are gas. Good pots & pans, cookie sheet, colander, Tupperware, plenty of dish ware, mugs, glasses & silverware. Our coffee/tea/hot cocoa bar will delight you with all that’s needed for that hot beverage.
Outside, the huge covered wrap around porch can be used during any weather and in all seasons-Watch local wildlife, a rainstorm, snow falling or a sunset over the Blue Ridge while enjoying that morning Jo or evening glass of wine. The porch is furnished with Amish hickory rockers, & a cozy, cushioned conversation pit. The gas grill and hot tub are centrally located between the game room & main house so everyone can gather. Walk past the hot tub & up the connecting stairs to the bunkhouse/game room. Two twin beds sleep two more guests with a large spa-like bathroom. When not sleeping the bunkhouse turns into a second living room space with electric fireplace, ROKU Smart TV, leather couch with electric incliners, bar, mini fridge, foosball, standard sized pool table, games, darts, puzzles, bar height table and chairs. Everything needed if you’re traveling with kids or teens, or are on a guy’s or gal’s trip, a few couples, etc.
The complete property is able to accommodate an extended family or two families traveling together-up to 8 adults & kids plus 1 infant (pack n play provided).
Guest access
Our entire property is available to our guests with the exception of the garage area below the bunkhouse and a couple of locked owner’s closets. There is an ample, level parking space with covered and uncovered spots for up to 4 vehicles.
Other things to note
When you stay at the Rustic Retreat you are in the middle of the Aska Adventure Area and the Cohutta National Forest. Tubing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Fly Fishing, Clay Shooting, Hiking, & even Gem Mining for the kids are all easily accessible within 6 miles of the house. Some of the best waterfalls in N GA are right down the street. This is a secluded, scenic area & yet when you are ready to visit shops, galleries, restaurants, cafes, take a ride on the Scenic Railway, visit wineries, orchards or music or apple festivals. You are 13 miles from either Ellijay or Blue Ridge, not to mention Dahlonega and their historic, vibrant downtowns.
There is no end to the sites & sounds of the N. GA mountains!

Perfect Rustic Retreat
It was cozy, comfy and had amazing mountain views. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Perfect place for a family get away. Bunkhouse/Apartment perfect for fun and games for all ages. Driveway was a little challenging with motorcycles, but manageable. Every turn lead you to another stunning view. The location was 20 minutes from both Elijay & Blue Ridge. Perfect spot to relax, soak in all the views and have family time. Many memories made at this Retreat.

Relaxing
We stayed for 1 week it was very nice and quiet. The only thing is the furniture in main house could be upgraded to more comfortable couch and chair with recliners being the most used gathering place in the main house. The Host were great and we had a nice time.

Family weekend getaway
This was our first trip to Blue Ridge and it did not disappoint! The cabin was well stocked with all the essential items needed for the trip. We cooked steaks and burgers on two evenings and had everything needed to prepare those dinners. The grill was clean and stocked with propane, more than enough plates/ bowls/cutlery for the group, and plenty of seating. The cabin had plenty of space for a group of 8 and 2 pets. We loved drinking coffee in the morning on the large porch. It had plenty of comfortable seating for all of us. We tubed the Toccoa River, played golf at Old Toccoa Farms, visited downtown Blue Ridge and Mercier Orchards, and even took a day trip over to Helen, GA. Ed and Michele were very approachable and responsive with any questions or concerns. Made the process so easy and effortless. If your planning or thinking about planning a trip to the area don't look past this spacious retreat!
