Great home for a family gathering!

11 family members came together to celebrate our parents anniversary. Plenty of room. Host thought of everything. Lots of fun games. Perfect place for fun family times. Gorgeous setting. 5 stars!

Bach/bachelorette trip

We loved this cabin! It fit all of us perfectly and we had plenty to do without having to leave. Only thing we did not expect was the location being in the back of the neighborhood which took more time to get out of.

It couldn't have been better.

The house is perfect for 2 or 15. A perfect house is the most important factor for a great vacation. The owner was wonderful to work with. We will definitely be back to Blue Ridge and we will be staying in this house.

Great Cabin

This cabin was so fun for the 4th of July wknd. It's close to downtown Blueridge and the Lake Blueridge. Lots of games for the kids and the views were amazing. Owners were very responsive. Would definitely stay again!

Christmas trip 2023

We had a great time at this property! We had a 3 day getaway for Christmas with the family. Ages 11-66. The cabin had a great layout compared to similar ones we have stayed in. The beds were firm which I love! The children enjoyed the game room very much. The property was very peaceful! Inwould recommend staying here and woukd definitely book again.

Very Responsive

Cabin is beautiful and well appointed. Management was very responsive to any issues we had. It was a great place for my family- the kids loved the game room and the adults loved the hot tub!

Great Location & Layout

The cabin was in a great location with easy access to downtown. The layout was perfect for a large family with kids. The kids loved the game room in the basement. We had issues with the heat not working and the hot tub not being clean but the host was very responsive in getting it taken care of.

Overall good stay

It was raining when we arrived and had an issue with some water. Informed the owner and we had excellent communication on how it would be handled.The only negative I have is The basement was spacious but was extremely cold. The heat didn’t reach to that part and we couldn’t get the electric fireplace working. Yep guests had sniffles after returning home. The hospitality gifts were a plus and location to own was a plus.

Nice views

The cabin is in a great neighborhood with nice views. Our overall stay was a little disappointing. The listing online states 4 bedrooms with queen or king beds but one of them is a room off the bar area in the basement and the other only had a full size bed. We looked forward to the amenities but the games and air hockey table didn’t work. The property management company was responsive but hit super helpful. We travel a lot and this was disappointing for a group of 8 adults

Great weekend getaway!

Our experience with Jennifer and the Choctaw Mountain Lodge was great! From start to finish, communication was excellent, and the handy guide and emails leading up to the trip were above and beyond what I have experienced with other vacation rentals. The home is well furnished and perfect for larger families or groups. We had two kids, a baby, and four adults and had plenty of space with room to spare. The large kitchen table is an awesome addition and allows for big group meals. The kitchen and bathrooms were well appointed with everything you would need to get started. The shower was a dream! I almost moved in there for the weekend! The location is PERFECT for quick trips to hiking trails, downtown Blue Ridge, grocery stores, vineyards and other activities. We truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return to any of the properties owned by KHB. Thank you for a wonderful and stress-free weekend.

Maybe new cleaners?

Owner may not be aware but House has a smell, all towels were sour, toilets are black but dirty, oven had white stuff in the bottom must be cleaner of some sort. The trash cans outside still have trash from long time ago and soiled baby diapers (took video). I actually didn’t even take showers we stayed at clean hotel in town to take showers. Porch had a lot of pollen, had to buy a broom just to sweep to enjoy outdoor fireplace. Couldn’t sit on directly on cushions outside due to pollen. Screen from door was loose.

July 4th Gathering

The property was perfect - beautiful, clean, well-stocked, welcoming. We were there for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. On day 2 the air conditioner quit working. The property manager and owner were very responsive and acted quickly to address the issue. Because of the heat inside the house we had to sit on the patio for the majority of the night and morning. We didn't get to play our Saturday night poker game or cook the meals we'd planned and purchased food for because it would have been too hot to operate the stove/oven. Also one couple left and drove back home because the heat exacerbated my friend's medical condition. I'm hoping the owner will refund one night's stay because of this. Despite all of this, I would stay there again provided the air conditioner is replaced!

Not up to our expectations

The property itself is in a convenient location, but beyond that our overall stay was poor. First, some of the photos seem a bit skewed. For example, the outdoor fireplace/seating area was actually really cramped and not as expansive as the photo suggests. Also, the indoor cough is shredded and 1 of the side table lamps doesnt have a working light bulb. Next, the home appears to have not been dusted in an extremely long time. The ceiling fans, fireplace and light fixtures were coated thickly with dust. The kitchen pots/utensils were not organized and just thrown into a lower cabinet and the trash can had food in the bottom. Lastly and worse of all, the Heat does not work consistently and the fireplace pilot on the basement was not on, so therefore it was freezing cold in the game room/additional guest rooms. During our stay the temps were in the mid-20s and when we woke up the inside temperature said 61 despite the thermostat being on 70--as requested by the host. The host sent an A/C repairman out 2x within 24 hours and both times were told there was nothing wrong. I would not recommend staying at this home

Great Home and Very Accommodating Owners, BUT...

The home had a great layout for our family needs, and we really enjoyed our stay, however, the maintenance and cleaning of the home needs serious changes. When we arrived, it was after a very hard rain that lasted about 30-40 minutes. The basement floor, about 9 feet surrounding the fireplace, was squishy wet. We contacted the owner and she sent her maintenance man to inspect and get the fireplace pilot lights lit. From the stains on the carpet and rug topper you could tell it was not the 1st time it had flooded. The carpet in the basement was filthy everywhere, not just the flooded areas. The owner also sent their cleaning lady with a carpet cleaner to suck up some of the water in the carpet and leave a dehumidifier (at our request) to help with the moisture and smell. The entire time, the basement suite smelled awful of mold and mildew. Upon our arrival, there were still towels in the dryer and the bathroom that my husband and I used was NOT CLEAN. There were hair balls in the corner behind the garbage can, obvious the floors had not been cleaned. The sinks were just wiped out, apparent that a cleaner was not used. The day we were leaving, we discovered the garbage disposal had quit working. While there, we typically hand washed the few dishes we had used and didn't run the dishwasher till our last night after a big dinner. We opened it to unload the morning we were leaving and it had not cleaned the dishes at all. It had run as we had all heard it "washing" for about an hour, but it didn't clean. The screen in the screen door on the front was loose from the door frame. We also had to purchase kitchen garbage bags and paper towels as there was only ONE of each of those items with no additional supplies anywhere. For what turned out to be costly per night with all the additional fees, having to go to the store to purchase those items did NOT sit well with us. I would highly recommend the owners make serious changes in their maintenance and cleaning services. To add also, prior to our arrival while we were making our food plans, I asked the owner if there was a crockpot and she said no. However, the next day she messaged me and said she had ordered one and it would be there for us to use.

Perfect Fall Getaway Cabin

We decided to take a fall long weekend getaway and chose Choctaw Ridge cabin with KHB vacation rentals. It just happened to be a terrific decision because our weekend was amazing and the cabin made our stay so comfortable for our large family. First of all, the booking process was simple and the location prime! We were within downtown Blue Ridge within ten minutes! The owner communicated with us before our trip, during the trip, and answered all our questions promptly. The cabin was clean, open, and inviting! Everyone in our large family party felt comfortable with their own privacy while staying there. We cooked a family soup night and found the kitchen sufficiently stocked with cooking utensils, pots, and pans. The decks gave a magnificent view of a mountain range, and with the trees in full foliage, we were in awe of God’s beautiful scenery. Thank you for a memorable family gathering and we will be back soon!

Very relaxing.

It was wonderful to sit on the deck and enjoy the beautiful mountains. The house is beyond our expectations. Blue Ridge has several nice places to eat. We loved having a couple glasses of wine at Bear Claw Winery. We are ready to go back Jennifer is the owner and she is wonderful to work with.

Wonderful spot for family vacation

The house was amazing!! Perfectly clean and full of amenities. The pool table, air hockey and arcade games on the lower level were a huge hit with our family…especially on a rainy day. There was more than enough room for our family of 8. The location and view are great!! It is very convenient to downtown Blue Ridge and surrounding towns. We enjoyed it immensely!!
