Our house is on the upper outskirts of Promajna, a small fishing village between Makarska and Baska Voda. From the house you have a wonderful view of the sea with the islands of Hvar and Brac. The place is characterized by many small private pensions and has retained its original character despite the rapid development in recent years.
From the house it is only a 5 minute walk to the beach with crystal clear water. There is something for everyone on the beach. Sun worshipers get their money's worth on the wide pebble beach, but you can also endure in the shade under pine trees.
You can refresh yourself at one of the beach bars, which have also taken care of the small hunger. Water sports have always been very important in Croatia. In the village you can rent smaller boats, scooters, pedal boats or kayaks. There are diving centers in Makarska and Baska Voda. Day trips are offered to the directly opposite islands of Hvar and Brac. But shore excursions to Split, Dubrovnik, Mostar or the Biokovo Mountains are also very attractive. In the village there are shops for everyday needs. For larger purchases you should go to the supermarkets in Makarska and Baska Voda. There are also 8 restaurants in town, where all the well-known Croatian specialties such as fish, lamb or grilled meat are freshly prepared.
