"This is a very old minor castle that’s been converted to a hotel. There is no air conditioning, so some of the rooms on the upper floor can get quite warm in late summer. The property is in a very remote location in a tiny village surrounded by vineyard. There aren’t many options for eating, but the good news is that the food at this place is quite outstanding, some of the best food you can find anywhere. "Reception was kind and welcoming, but the room (Dolcetto) was very odd. Tried to find it charming, a long cave, but it's strange. The foot of the bed is right upon the curtains on the opposite wall. Sleep was the big problem. The room sits over the socializing courtyard and restaurant. The mild thump of music continued into the evening, followed after closing by voices laughing in the courtyard below the room. The drapes are too thin to block out the light in the courtyard.
