"Overall this was a fair stay. We might stay there again because of the convenience of having a kitchen. However we would not have stayed this trip had we known in advance the issue with the pull out bed. The primary issue was lack of consistent cleaning of the sofa and its pull out bed. When we pulled out the sofa bed to use it, it was extremely dirty, so we were unable to sleep there the first night. I looked for a hotel room, but we determined it was late and all were in PJs, so we slept on...

"We originally lived in Joplin and raised 2 of our 4 children but moved away after the Joplin tornado in May 2011. We were excited to find out upon planning a return trip to the area that we could stay in this storied and well known landmark. Our children loved the train themes. The home is beautiful inside and out with lots of indoor and outdoor space to spread out. Waking up in the morning making breakfast for everyone was fun. Especially looking out the kitchen window and seeing a family of bunnies in the yard. We had great memories to cherish forever. I loved the property itself but could have been cleaner and less cluttered with random furniture. Would not return unless things were cleaned up.
